SO I've been obsessing with feydpaul and put together some quotes that sum up the fic and what I'm bringing into it. It's not long (my fics never are) but I think it will reach 15k. I'm not even reading feydpaul fics yet!!! this is hell!!!

chapter 1 - so this is how we survive

Atreides squats down and looks at him with a look that Feyd is unable to decipher. There is neither pity nor fear, nor a clue as to what in the world he is doing—keeping the last Harkonnen alive.

“I see a man who has lost everything and would do anything to survive, cousin. Now stop bleeding all over the place.”

With swift steps, he leaves the room, and when he looks down, he sees that the wound has indeed reopened and he’s bleeding on the sand on the floor.

Feyd lets out a laugh that seems more like the grunt of an animal, sad and pained, and sits down on the cot and waits for sleep to come.

wip wednesday

a possibly short something that I’m writing in the attitude of the knife setting.

Paul shrugs. He looks at where Feyd is, staring at them without almost blinking; he scratches the side of his neck, almost absentmindedly, as if he didn’t know exactly what he is doing to Paul with that gesture. There is defiance in his posture, although Paul doesn’t know if any other than him is able to know the nuances between all his insolent looks.

It wouldn’t matter if he wasn’t looking at them. Paul knows that Feyd is acutely aware of where he is at all times; when he doesn’t, he gets restless. And when he gets restless, he gets violent, and Paul enjoys punishing him better when he doesn’t have a real reason to do so.

six sentence sunday

still the continuation of the attitude of the knife, I’m slow but its still coming

Paul’s fingers go over the little marks that pave the path to his neck; there is a big, reddish line from side to side and everyone would be able to ascertain its origin if it weren’t for the cover the battle suit provides. His fingernail pushes into it and Feyd shudders; something pools in his stomach at the sound.

Breathing deep, he repositions his hand until he is able to feel his Adam’s apple against the index. He looks at his eyes (so big, so black, so sad) in the mirror.

“Are you going to tell me what is going on, or should I get it out of you myself?”

Feyd doesn’t lie, and this time follows suit—he isn’t lying. But it’s not the whole truth; Feyd would not endure this humiliation for anyone, but Paul—Atreides—won. He won, fair and square, and in his world that means something. Maybe Atreides is a fake messiah. Maybe this is all a Bene Gesserit plot. But Feyd feels, as he has felt his whole life, that there is something at the end of the line for him, for he is Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen and he was born for greatness.
