And now for something completely different. This is the coat I made for my sister to wear to Ren fests. I used McCall's M6819 and modified it to make the coat reversible. It's made from two layers of tapestry: one mad paisley side that matches her hair, and a more delicate gold side that she has yet to wear (...she's a stinker). The skirt is split for riding, and I made the two panels in the back extra long so that they drag on the ground behind her. I meant for her to wear my gold chemise underneath, but the girl insists on wearing pants and a man's shirt. I'm really pleased with how it looks on her, though. She's a spirit of fire. I wanted her to look like a wild princess, one who can go on adventures and let her hair flow free in the wind as she rides through the glen, firing sarcastic comments into the sunset.
