Working on this smaller diptych painting today. Adding sepia wash and more layers. Will probably stretch out to 32x36 . love me some canvas scraps. When painters say they have no artistic influences, they really mean they have short memories of selective recall. I can trace my style inspiration back to Tapies, mostly and a few others. The immediacy of the work speaks to me. I don’t really paint like him, but the line of familiarity is present.
