So you guys asked for it?? And here it is I guess, my headcanons on the species that populate the RH universe and generally what I go by for my fanon, uhh, here’s my essay then, all over-indulgent headcanon fun~
There are three primary umbrella species:
Humans are exactly as they appear in the real world and with skin tones of the same variety. Humans are generally preferred for appearance-dependent jobs such as film actors, idols, models, etc. Humans are defined by their rather limited skin tones compared to the vast rainbow Humanoids can come in, as well as all sensory organs being prominent and visible, ie protruding ears, noses, mouths, eyes, etc. Humans are always clothed due to having full and expressed anatomy as they do in the real world. Their eyes come in a rather limited variant on a same general shape, hair follicles are common among humans, and humans can always be defined by having five fingers to each hand. Mostly similar in other ways to how humans are entirely in the real world.
Some human characters: MC ADORE, JJ Rocker, Ann Glerr, Karate Joe
Humanoids are, as the name suggests, partially human. Their anatomy is usually incomplete and their bodies are, altogether, less detailed with a more uniform look to the entire body. Clothes are considered optional for the humanoids and are really just worn for personal style and self expression, as there is nothing to expressly “keep covered”. Humanoids’ skin can come in a vast variety of colors all throughout the entire color spectrum. Unlike humans, humanoids will usually be missing visible sensory organs and while they have them, they are not visible. Examples of this includes DJ Yellow, a humanoid who does have a visible nose but lacks visible ears, whereas his student DJ Blue does not have a visible nose. Their eyes and facial structure altogether also has much more variation and humanoids seem as though they were pulled from drawings or cartoons with a variety of somewhat biologically impossible looking traits, like the aforementioned DJ Yellow and his small, pitch-black eyes (often called “dot eyes” as they are a commonly seen trait among humanoids) which, despite bizarre looks, function perfectly fine. Humanoids are dexterous and born with a natural sense for rhythm, helpful considering the universe’s revolution around it. Humanoids also do not often possess hair follicles, as opposed to humans, and their most common characteristic setting them apart from humans beyond their vast color palette is their hands. Humanoids naturally have a wide variant of fingers they can have from 2 to 6, but most commonly humanoids will have 3, 4 or 5 fingers. Humanoids and humans are both equally common sights and they’re both tied for populations.
Some humanoid characters: DJs Blue and Yellow, Tall Tappers, Stepswitchers
Non-humans are rather self explanatory but come in two varieties. Sapient non-humans consist of things such as anthropomorphic animals, robots, animate objects, and other sentient life that does not fall under the previous two categories. They are generally a wide variant and only really known for being sentient life-forms that coexist with humans and Humanoids, but not fitting into a proper classification. These have the most sub-species underneath the umbrella. There are also non-sapient non-humans, which serve as the basic, less intelligent life that populates the entirety of the world.
Some sapient characters: Baxter, Forthington, Barista, many of the monkeys
While there is obviously no interbreeding between non-humans and humans/Humanoids, the latter two do often intermingle which creates the slightly lesser known umbrella species/race of “sub-humans”.
Sub-humans are children born from one human and one humanoid parent. Most commonly, sub-humans tend to look very human, often growing hair, having all exposed sensory organs, five fingers and developed anatomy. It is usually common for sub-humans to have skin tones closer to what’s found in humans, but there are rarer cases where they take on the broader colors of humanoids. Sub-humans can usually be identified by carrying over exaggerated or odd looking physical characteristics they may have inherited from their humanoid parents, most commonly seen in the form of having their parent’s distinct eyes—though this can also alter other body parts, eyes are just the most common to be notable in sub-humans.

and yeah that’s what I’ve got?? This is just a general almost scientific-styled thing, of course there will always be outliers who don’t necessarily fit the exact bill which is why everything is worded in forms like “almost always”, “commonly” and “usually”
