(facepalms) Oh Blair. What did you just brought?
Oh, that’s fine.
The first time ever, TAR US visiting Colombia (yes, first time on US, because the ones who visited Colombia already is TAR Latin America); and this time they’re visiting Cartagena. A world heritage site… wow.
The team’s first destination is Totumo. Sounds interesting.
Oh Zach.
“We’re going to Cuba.”
“Nope.”
Epic. Fail.
Everybody wanted to get that early flight.
AAAHH! Darius & Cameron met a fan!
Everybody reserving tickets, and here are the flights:
First flight: Tyler & Korey, Brodie & Kurt, Dana & Matt, and Burnie & Ashley.
Second flight: Brittany & Jessica, Erin & Joslyn, Scott & Blair, and Zach & Rachel.
Third flight: Marty & Hagan
Last flight: Darius & Cameron
And teams arriving are greeted with a Roadblock: “Who’s a hot mess?”
And in this Roadblock, after submerging themselves head to toe in the mud (yes, they said it’s therapeutic), they have to find Colombia’s most abundant gem, then they have to deliver it to the attendant that will point them to their next clue.
Game on, everyone! The Roadblock seems interesting this time.
Brodie got the gem first. Dana said Brodie looked stunning. Aww.
Ashley is the hot mess. And Korey is.
After the Roadblock, teams have to go to Manzanillo del Mar and search for their next clue. Yes, Brodie & Kurt are going there, because they already finished their Roadblock.
Korey found it, but he dropped the gem. Ouch.
Dana and Ashley chased over.
Korey tried for the second time over there.
Whoa. Blair & Scott said hi to Erin & Joslyn (they passed them), but Sheri & Cole then passed them. Oh man.
Burnie & Ashley and Matt & Dana finished, followed by Tyler & Korey.
Then there is the second flight ones chasing, while the last flights are arriving.
Blargh, Blair. She wanted to do the Roadblock, but she didn’t have anything to swim. Like swimsuit with here. Rachel offered her a Spandex, thank goodness.
Brodie & Kurt then arrived.
Then there is the Detour: Pop Up, where they have to build a shelter from materials provided; then help to get the party started, or Parrilla, when they have to prepare a dish to the partygoers for the next clue.
Back in the Roadblock, yes there are Rachel and Blair.
Burnie & Ashley arrived on the Detour choice site. Both Brodie & Kurt and Burnie & Ashley chose Pop-Up. Let’s get the party started, everyone!
Sheri & Cole arrived on the Roadblock site.
Ahaha, video tutorial? Sounds fun! (Erin said that?)
And someone said for photoshoot thing? Oh man! What an interesting Roadblock! After all.
Ahaha, teams greeting Sir Keoghan. Tyler & Korey and Matt & Dana, actually Dana greeted Sir Keoghan. Wow.
Okay, teams are building the shelters. Four teams are up for this Detour.
Back to the Roadblock. Cole got the emerald, and after that Brittany.
Brodie & Kurt had already done the shelter.
Oh, Matt and Dana. Their woods are falling. Yeah, although it’s just a bit.
Hagan’s doing the Roadblock, as Cameron is.
Everybody on Pop-Up still doing the shelter. Dana & Matt missed on that 90 degrees turn that one. As Brodie & Kurt got it incorrect, and then… (they wonder what’s wrong)
The holes weren’t deep enough!
Tyler & Korey now setting up the party! Yes and they are!
They’re going first after this task, to Plaza Bolivar, which is the Pit Stop for this leg.
Brodie & Kurt went shocked of Tyler & Korey doing it that fast.
Back to the Roadblock, Cameron was done, while Hagan is still struggling to get the emerald.
Erin & Joslyn, Sheri & Cole, are on the Detour choice site.
While Scott & Blair have to do the Speed Bump before the Detour.
Sheri & Cole and Zach & Rachel did the Pop-Up that one. Wait. Five teams on here.
Brodie & Kurt got them. They set up the party and finally got the next clue.
Erin & Joslyn did the Parrilla.
Hagan is still struggling on the Roadblock.
For their Speed Bump, Scott and Blair had to help local fishermen to hold the catch and get the fish before continuing with their Detour.
Dana realized that every turn got wrong on their shelter. They had to dig it out. Oh man.
Burnie & Ashley can set up their party, as their shelter is correct!
They received their next clue.
Brittany & Jessica did the Parrilla. Erin & Joslyn still in progress with it.
Tyler & Korey arrived to the Pit Stop. THEY’RE TEAM NUMBER ONE!
They’re pretty consistent this far. Great job!
Hagan finally got the emerald. Oh man. But a great effort, anyway.
Zach & Rachel did that fail. They built the shelter on the wrong area. Read the clue!
Scott & Blair finished with their Speed Bump, and now continuing with the Detour (Parrilla).
Darius & Cameron almost there. BUT THEY MISSED THE CLUE!
They thought it’ll be a clue box. It’s not always the clue box.
Brodie & Kurt did a great job on finishing second. And there comes Brodie & Ashley, arriving third.
Darius & Cameron are lost, directly on the Detour site.
What an incredible lost. Oh man.
Be careful. Scott dropped a fish, while Jessica (or Brittany?) got a little bit cut. Aaargh, be careful everyone!
There it is. Dana & Matt, coming fourth.
Darius & Cameron finally got their clue. Marty & Hagan following.
Blair & Scott already checked, and the fish is not good. Undercooked, Blair said.
Brittany & Jessica finished their portion, and they’re going to the Pit Stop!
Zach & Rachel also set up their party, going to the Pit Stop then.
After that, Blair & Scott finished their portion.
Both Marty & Hagan and Darius & Cameron also doing their Detour now.
Checking in on the Pit Stop…
Erin & Joslyn went fifth, followed by Zach & Rachel on sixth, and Brittany & Jessica on seventh. Sooo insane. But great job to those three making it to the next leg!
And there it is. Sheri & Cole, finishing eighth.
Marty & Hagan finished their Detour portion.
Meanwhile in the Pit Stop, Blair & Scott is finishing ninth. They’re still in the Race, great job!
It’s Darius & Cameron remaining on the Detour.
Marty & Hagan are still running for their taxi, though. While Darius & Cameron got their portion and they’re going to the Pit Stop. This is gonna be dramatic.
On the Pit Stop, Darius & Cameron finished tenth. They’re still in the Race.
While Marty & Hagan arrived last and is eliminated from the Race.
After all, I feel like this leg is also one of the most interesting legs. It gets muddy, it gets hot, and it gets whatever it takes to explore this beautiful world. Along with competing, that’s the essence of The Amazing Race!
Yes, especially the Roadblock, although it’s also searching for an emerald, it reminds me to “mud-spa” for TAR US 20 in Azerbaijan (well, it’s not officially a switchback), or the similar in HMLM 4 in Georgia (but it’s not that too, but it reminds me to them). Yes. Mud is always fun.
For the first two legs, it seems so small with all the Route Infos, Detour, and Roadblock. The setting could be getting interesting per leg, when there comes the medium part and the hard parts, full of twists. Who knows, because I feel the leg structure will be so interesting as well.
Anyway, thank you for reading, and see you later! (Honduras ep32 is waiting, it’ll be tomorrow 9pm Israel time on Reshet, but I’ll review it on Monday, because it’ll be 2am my time zone).
