Okay, so I just had this thought and it won't go away, but...

Did 13 ever give the fam TARDIS keys?

Because I don't remember that happening. She lost her key between 11x00 and 11x02,probably falling out of the TARDIS, but Sexy is great and let's her in just like that, sure, but like. After that? Is there ever a mention of keys? Because I don't think so and now I'm kinda very concerned about the implications of that, since 11 told Clara (Clara Oswin Oswald, the Victorian one) that he never knows why and only knows who right before giving her a key, and so far every one of his companions got a key, didn't they?

(did Bill have a key? I don't remember that one...)

So yeah.

This is really just me rambling about something that I noticed. I'm not good with the meta stuff, if anyone wants to expand on this, feel free to do so ^_^

Tardis Keys?!

So Rose is all worried the doctor is going to bail on her, and then he just tosses her a SET OF TARDIS KEYS. I don't know why it's so shocking that the tardis is opened by keys-- I mean, it has to be secured somehow, I suppose-- but keys? It's just so... human. Also, the woman bothering the government people about the cottage hospitals is Mrs. Crowley from Downton Abbey. Just sayin'.

I haven't seen "Hide" yet, so maybe this happened in that ep but... Does anybody else find it weird that Clara hasn't been given a TARDIS key yet? So far, the only Clara The Doctor has given one to is Victorian Clara, and she dropped it when the Ice Governess pulled her off the TARDIS. I mean, Rose got one in her third episode. And when Nine gave it to her, he said, "'Bout time you had one," like he had been intending to give her one all along but just hadn't gotten around to it. Even if Clara's not separated from The Doctor much, you'd think he'd still give her a key anyway. They were separated for quite a while in "Cold War" and he didn't even give her one then. I always kinda figured the giving of a TARDIS key implied a sense of trust. I mean, he's giving someone a key to his SPACESHIP, his HOME. And, as The Doctor states in "The Bells of Saint John," the TARDIS is the most powerful spaceship in the universe, and you'd imagine for that reason he wouldn't give away keys to it willy-nilly. The scene in "The Snowmen" where he gives Victorian Clara the key is a good example of this. He just gives her the key silently, placing it on her palm, and she says, "Why?" To which he simply replies, "I never know why, only who." Not to mention that Eleven told the Ponds at one point (don't know which episode) that "I choose my friends with great care." So does he not trust her enough yet to give her a key? Or, like Nine, has he just not gotten around to it yet?
