He smiled , the cat who got the cream and winked at her. It all permeated into his tone in the most annoying way.

" Yes. my REPUTATION proceeds me. And you're the resident Caspar. " He leaned casually against the TARDIS. Was he supposed to be in here ? No , of course not. But what she is going to do about it ? Rat him out ? Pfft. As useful as a confessional priest playing tour guide.

" It must be boring in here. The Tardis is a sweet girl but for a place the size of a planet I bet there's not a lot to do when you're trapped in here all alone. I would HELP with that. If you want. "

certainly hates it when the lights go out on board , as if it's something mechanical & not just ship trying to prove a point in that petulant way of hers ! as if he doesn't do the same - not now anyways , when he is petulantly trying to make a point himself ! hand drags along the wall , pretends it guides him as if he doesn't know these hallways like the back of his , well , hand . come to think of it , does he ? she's always rearranging & reorganizing , simply must map her thoroughly one of these faces .

kitchen is illuminated by candles that he certainly does not remember lighting . imagines she would have scolded him in some way if he had lit them & left them . puzzled expression stays as he makes his way into the room , picking up single candle & then replacing it exactly so , ❛     ✩   ----- if you're trying to tell me something , old girl , you'll have to do better than that . ❜ something about it seems familiar , but to man who forgets , that familiar feeling is fleeting , lost as soon as it's felt .

She was sure she had heard something. Of course, that wasn’t a rare occasion when on board of the TARDIS, which never seemed completely quiet. There was a humming in the air and the sound of the Doctor’s footsteps, which she was sure she would recognise amongst another hundred. BUT SHE HAD HEARD SOMETHING ELSE. Unable to sleep, she had just stared at the ceiling, until she silently had climbed down the ladder of the bunk bed (still rolling her eyes at it and at Rory, who was still fast asleep on the bottom bunk), and pulled on a robe to leave the room.

TECHNICALLY, she knew, it wasn’t night – they weren’t really bound to the normal rhythm of time as long as they kept in flight – but the TARDIS still dimmed the lights and gave them some quiet to sleep, when they needed it. THEY still needed it, while the Doctor seemed ever restless. Of course.

But she was sure it wasn’t the Doctor who she had heard. Something else. Someone else… But it was impossible, right? They had been there and – it had just been a dream. A nightmare. Furrowing her brows, she pulled the robe closer, as she stepped deeper into the corridor leading away from the console room. “Hello? Doctor, is that you?” | @tardisghosted LIKED.

"i manage fine alone ." (for 13!)

"No one manages fine alone." Even the Doctor. She pretends to, but has always needed people. And always will. But luckily, she's not unique in that. Everyone needs help from time to time. "Everyone needs people. And that's okay." A pause, a kind smile. "Let me help you."

there's no seat in the console room. she's going to bully the tardis into changing that. it's not that she plans on going on a trip again ( she is lying to herself; she knows that she's lying to herself ) but she hangs out in the very much grounded tardis often enough that she'd like a seat while she's sitting around watching the doctor tinker.

( she's not in her thirties anymore. sitting on the floor has to be a planned event. )

but it's nice to have the tardis in the backyard. donna has never much understood the man cave thing, but suddenly she's found herself remembering things she hadn't remembered for fifteen years. it's nice to have a space away from the family, even if she feels routinely guilty about it.

so it's her bedroom, most often, when the doctor isn't there in the console room tinkering. the tardis even kept her bedroom. or put it back. whichever one it is, she's grateful. it's got all her things still there. souvenirs she'd picked up for her gramps still in place, like it was yesterday. no dust present.

"insanely creepy," she adds, eyes still closed, tipped over on her back on the familiar bed in the tardis bedroom. there's no bite behind her words. while she'd been terrified out of her wits the first time autumn had appeared, by now she's alright. she's familiar. you see a ghost twice and have a conversation and it's sort of normal. "sounds like the thing a serial killer says in one of those american cop shows right before they get you."

she peeks open an eye.

"i think i'm going mad. for so many reasons, really, but -" so many. she doesn't know whether to go with the alphabetical or chronological. there's a strain in her voice when she talks. she's been given an opening, and the tardis -- it's safe. autumn isn't going to tell on her. she nearly says the big one - wanting, so badly, to keep everyone together, to keep the doctor here, to make sure her family are happy, but she clamps her mouth shut around the words.

"i don't know what i was thinking with this UNIT job. smartest people in the world, and then there's me."

feet swing back and forth, hanging over the edge of the tardis' ramps. she's not used to the tardis with ramps yet, but she's getting used to it. and she refuses to be in here unless it's parked.

she's not having another time at the edge of the universe incident. maybe one day she'll get back in this ship and go off to space, but that's not going to be today. tomorrow's not looking great either.

autumn's statement only makes her grin wider.

"i've got my best mate back, you're going to have to deal with me being annoying. especially because you didn't have to deal with the not things. got right out of that one, didn't you."

META + animals

donna got a dog shortly after her memory loss. it was sort of a cocker spaniel mix, and it was five years old when she got it. the idea came from her grandfather - she wasn't going out with friends as often and when she did she wasn't enjoying it, she didn't have a job, she often woke up crying in the middle of the night.

she got the dog when she met shaun; the dog's name was originally 'rex' but she kept on calling him rax. for some reason!

occasionally she could be heard outloud referring to him as 'canine'. doesn't know where that instinct came from, 'cause it's weird if you think about it! but it felt right.

he died when rose was around nine.

❝ —— Oh come on, you've got admit, it's like fate, River Song .... ❞  She gestured to herself and then to Autumn. ❝ meet Autumn Brooke ... now, we can hardly call it unintentional kidnapping if if we've been introduced. ❞  She'd only meant to take the TARDIS for a quick trip, shopping spree, biggest mall this side of the Andromeda Galaxy, hadn't thought anyone else would be here.
