DAEMON TARGARYEN + his hair doing that ✨thing✨ requested by @sansaorgana
Isn't it quite odd how according to a prophecy Azor Ahai lived eight thousand years B.A.C to fight against the Others and yet is said 'to wake dragons out of stone' when he is reborn?
Why would an at least five thousand year old prophecy entail the revival of a species that either might had yet to come into existence or was definitely not yet extinct at this point. In fact, the dragons would have reached their peak around the same time this prophecy first appeared under the Valyrian Freehold. Prior to the doom there was likely no one that believed the creatures that ruled the earth would ever go extinct. And yet it's entailed in the prophecy, which makes one wonder if and how much the prophecy has changed during the events of history, and when and by whom.
At some point in time Azor Ahai had to be assigned to be reborn at least as a descendent of the valyrian dragonlords, if s/he was to be connected to dragons, given that valyrians were the only ones to ever successfully tame dragons (after the mythical folk that taught the valyrians before they vanished from earth according to legends).
If Aegon knew it will be his house that will bring forth Azor Ahai Reborn then someone during or after Aegon III reign (when their last dragon died) had modified this very prophecy. At some point either House Targaryen or mabye the followers of R'hllor had made Azor Ahai house targaryen personal savior, who will bring them back their beloved dragons and with them their freedom (given how strongly they are connected with house targaryen's freedom).
