At 9:03 a.m. the second plane crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. An hour later, at 10:03, the third plane collided at the Pentagon, the headquarters of the US Department of Defense. The terrorists were about to hit the fourth plane on the US Capitol in Washington DC, but it crashed into a field while some passengers and crew tried to control the plane.
