Delphine my love my dear. I’m making some serious progress on The Dez Illusion outline and am really liking how her character is coming along. Wanted to draw her <33 I think she’s stressed af all the time <33
Along with the writing came the moment when Ego and Ancano meet each other in Winterhold. They’re roommates and start out as awkwardly as one would as college roommates.
Delphine again. I think she often makes the same face cats do when they’re anticipating being bapped. Life as an innkeeper is hard, a bar fight just broke out.
Erandur singing <33 because I love him so dearly
And Targuff, my rarely-drawn Nerevarine! Riekling warrior <33 I don’t draw her much bc I don’t have many thoughts on Morrowind bc I can’t seem to get into the gameplay of Morrowind, BUT I recently discovered the Morroblivion mod so I might have found my ticket into the MW side of the fandom! Have yet to play it just yet though
I haven’t played Morrowind yet, but am highly interested in its story. I need to get around to playing it so I can develop my Nerevarine properly.
This is Targuff and her bristleback, Mulmok! She’s a riekling and scorned by her tribe after a dwarven-scavenging trip resulted in the death of her son, who was supposed to challenge the chief. She tended to the bristlebacks and stayed out of the tribe’s internal workings, which gave her a lot of free time to travel Solstheim.
My current plan for her is that she’ll meet a Bosmer who is able to semi-understand the riekling language and speaks with her on one of her outings. Through this, he learns that she fits the bill of the first trial of the Nerevarine prophecy (born on a certain day to uncertain parents — she isn’t aware of its implications or who Nerevar is [as a riekling, they assume Solstheim is the whole world, and are very sheltered]). This Bosmer is working for the Blades and the Empire, and manages to get/convince her to come to Morrowind to “see the world,” but really wants her to create religious upset on the Empire’s behalf.
Targuff’s journey follows one of complete mindfuckery. She doesn’t know any other language but riekling, and this Bosmer is her only way to communicate with the rest of the world. She’s not very favored, and in turn does not favor Morrowind. However, she’s intrigued, enchanted, and terrified of this whole new, giant world before her, and she wants to see it. Unfortunately, she gets stuck in Morrowind for a long time dealing with being the Empire’s plaything and the target of House Dagoth and a few Daedric Princes. The sooner she finds out about her translator’s toying, the better, but ofc I plan on making things be worse for her.
At least she has Mulmok :]
The second image is a bit older than the first. I originally planned to line and color it but never found the motivation for it
FINALLY started playing Morrowind again after my failed first attempt. Here are some Targuffs based off of my last session.
Details and character lore below
I’m playing vanilla Morrowind so obv I’m not a riekling, but instead a Nord bc the stats would vaguely translate to a riekling I think. I joined the Fighters Guild, got beaten to near death by rats because I didn’t realize that I couldn’t attack with weapons that I didn’t choose for my skillset. Left the rat den, spent like 20min trying to find someone who would sell a spear, finally got one, then went back and got beaten to near death AGAIN bc WOW they weren’t kidding when they said Morrowind works on dice rolls and 80% of my hits missed. But I killed the rats. So I felt good.
For Targuff, I’m still working on her story, but I’ve changed her translator friend from a Bosmer to a Nord in an effort to recycle an old character who needed some love. His name is Veknar, a no-nonsense guy who helps get Targuff around the language barrier and generally hangs around as a buddy.
For the fighters guild quest, I don’t think the lady who hired them would be happy to see a riekling in her home, and while Targuff can’t understand her, she knows the tone of an insult when she hears it. So, while she’s off killing rats, she also messes up the lady’s pillow collection in retaliation.
I also just needed an opportunity to draw Targuff with an expression that wasn’t her usual grimace. She should be a lil chaotic.
