Yooo so I got to set up an art trade with @tarisaskia, who asked me to draw their quizzie ~  I’m still practicing masculine features so I’m sorry about that, but man, Niv was fun to draw! :0  And I mean, it’s not like I have a weak spot for characters with the assassin specialization, or anything. I hate how the Lavellan's Dalish camp fate is handled in da:I. I mean, my lavellan's clan got wiped out and there are absolutely no reaction from anyone in Skyhold ! So just to torture myself I like to imagine how Dorian would comfort my inquisitor through the mourning. Like he would ditch the sarcasm, hug him while he cries and many small attentions like that. Am I the only one to do that ? ;.;

Don’t worry, you are definitely not the only one to do that! My Inquisitor is a Trevelyan so I haven’t written anything like that, but I have seen lots floating around in fandom! It really is a shame that they didn’t follow up on that ingame. I heard that that particular quest was written after the deadline for voiced dialog, so there was no way to get the voice actors back to add a scene. Still, it would have been nice if, I don’t know, there’d been a short cutscene of the Inquisitor sitting on the floor in their room or something and, without a word, their love interest (or whoever has the highest approval if they aren’t romancing anyone) comes in and sits next to them. It’s not much but it’s something at least.

And I completely agree. Dorian uses sarcasm to hide his own insecurities, but none of that matters here. All that matters is that the person he cares so deeply for is hurting and he would do anything to comfort him. Dorian is gentle and sincere and it’s a side he rarely shows to anyone. But the Inquisitor makes him feel safe so of course Dorian would want to return that as best he could.

4 months late but.... i finally felt inspired to actually draw this aaaa sorry

also i haven’t drawn them smoking just bc im not very keen on cigars/cigarettes/anything like that so i dont tend to draw it i guess :0

oh that sounds neat!! i went with a sakura branch though! maybe he has an octopus somewhere else hmm

Heya it’s me again! Just want to tell you I love seeing your work on my dashboard. I really like your writing, it’s awesome when it comes with some illustrations! I tried looking around but I didn’t see any of your writing about Tamlen and Dorian’s first kiss / first night ... did you already wrote about it ? If so, I’m sorry i missed it >o< If not, then... it’s a suggestion maybe? Keep up the good work <3 *double check to see if I didn’t write “Stanley” again*

adsfadsfasf thank you so much!! ;A; and yes, whenever I have a new idea for a drawing I’m like “but what if I.... wrote a story instead” and vice versa xD So I really enjoy writing short drabbles for bigger drawings or adding small drawings to a longer story :D I’d also like to do more comics, but I’m always so aaahhh... they take a lot of time to make, I feel like I need to battle my perfectionism a bit more first xD

About your question: no, I actually never wrote a story about their first kiss or first night. I think I once made a very small doodle and mentioned it now and then in an ask meme. The first kiss (how I imagine the scene to play out) is one of those things I’d really love to do as a comic xD Maybe in the future if people are interested ^^

Wow, i love how creative and detailed all of this is. Gave me the feels ! It’s hard to go crazy when it come to the Dalish culture, I never feel like I know enough. So i enjoyed reading your take on what a bonding ceremony would be :3

But yes, I love reading and getting inspired by other people’s headcanons and reading about how they imagine anything from allday-life in the clan to specific rituals to be like :D Really wish it was possible for the devs to go as deep with the ingame lore as some of the meta posts I’ve read are :D

Yay OC facts ! Nivenor is a heavy sleeper, the very first months in the inquisition were really hard for him. So he basically naps everywhere and all the time. (With his mouth wide open of course ) Also, his hair is pretty wavy and he cannot tame them, unless in a ponytail. His hair strands are very curly in the end and he basically looks like Medusa in the morning ;D

Awww xD I envy Nivenor, I have a hard time with sleeping lately xD Being able to nap anyhwere and everywhere sounds nice :D

My Tamlen is a bit similar, he can fall asleep pretty much anywhere, but usually he prefers to sleep in his bed or another “safe” place where he doesn’t get disturbed. He’s neither a very heavy nor a light sleeper though. Some things like people talking and other background noise he can ignore, but loud noises in the middle of the night make him wake up fast usually.

(You made my day when I read how you titled your ask ) Sorry if you've been asked this before but what software do you use ? Thank you for sharing your art, I love seeing Stanley and Dorian being dorks in love <3

“Stanley” is so far the best auto-correct version of Tamlen I’ve read xDDD I guess he’d say: “Still better than Harold.”

I’m not sure if I was asked before but I’m always happy to answer any questions! I use Photoshop CS6 for drawing ^^
