The young boy stared at the other child for a very long time. Somewhere in the back of his mind he heard his parents’ previous scolding, warning him that it was not at all polite to stare, but that lesson was having a difficult time making it to the front. He titled his head to one side and then the other, clear blue eyes wide in a curious but thoughtful expression.

“Excuse me... why are you blue?” He asked as calmly and clearly as if he was asking about the weather.
