“Marry me, then,” he suggested impulsively. Heart pounding with his own audacity, he reached out and took one of their hands gently. He had no plan--had been thinking about this for weeks but hadn’t actually figured out how to do it--but the words just kept tumbling out and he meant them with every inch of his being. Elen deserved everything he could offer and more and now he just...had to hope this worked.

As soon as Glorfindel saw the sparkling drops on Elen’s face, he was in motion. Without waiting to find out what was wrong, he swept them into a warm embrace. He said nothing, just trying to offer comfort with his touch.
