Ostara Tarot Questions
Ostara is a time of renewal and growth and is a good time to do some divination. This list was made with tarot in mind but you could use these questions for other forms of divination. I was tempted to title this Ostarot Questions but I don’t think that reads well!
What can I offer to nature?
What can I do to honor nature?
How can I grow spiritually?
What do I need to focus on this spring?
What are my imbalances?
How can I bring balance to my life?
How can I adjust to the longer days?
What in my life do I need to get rid of?
What should I leave behind in the winter?
What should I bring with me into the spring?
What advice does my spirit guide have for me this season?
What can I do to honor my deity?
Feel free to add on more ideas!

Last year in April I hosted my first tarot challenge, and I got such a kick out of it that I decided to do it again this year. You’re all so creative and sweet that I just can’t help it. And, just like last year, I’m excited about it like a whole month in advance, so I’m posting about it awkwardly early ☀ I figure it’ll give more people a chance to think it over.
Anyway, the 2018 edition is called The Floriographer’s Tarot Challenge, and it combines my three favourite things: tarot, plants, and history. For those unfamiliar, floriography is the “language of flowers.” Popular in the Victorian era (but invented long before that in many parts of the world), it attributed meanings to flower species, and sometimes to flower colours. Bouquets could tell complex stories through their contents, from romance, to exhaustion and defeat, to one’s most secret ambitions.
Each day, starting on April 1, I will post a flower as a prompt, including its floriographical meaning, a photo, and a related spread (generally 1-3 cards). Maybe a fun fact too if I’m feeling ambitious, but I won’t make any promises :p There’s no pressure to do the spread every day, and the individual spreads will make sense on their own, so there’s no wrong way to do this challenge (unless you’re hurting someone’s feelings, buddy). The official tag will be #floriographer’s tarot if you want to see what others are up to!
An example, for your perusal: Bells of Ireland (Moluccella laevis) indicate “good luck.“ For today’s spread, place three cards in a vertical line, tall like these flowers are! The first is where you’ve been lucky lately, the second is where you’ve been unlucky, and the third is a type of luck you’ll be needing soon. Fun fact: Bells of Ireland are actually from Turkey!
So yeah as always, sorry for being fired up this far in advance, but you know me, all unable to prioritise literally anything. I hope you’ll pop by for a day or two of this challenge, and possibly share even if not. (My phone autocorrected pop to poop ha)

Tarot Reader Life Hacks
1. Dollar stores will often have cheap scarves that can be used as reading cloths or backgrounds for Instagram posts as well as to wrap and store decks if you don't want a pricey bag or box.
2. If you want to use a glossy deck for photos but have a glare on the cards, elevate the cards slightly and take the photo. The glare will be gone.
3. Yes, Kinko's or Staples can help trim your deck...but make sure to do test runs first as some people/stores/machines are more reliable than others. Pick a paper that's close to the thickness of your cardstock and see how it cuts.
4. Damaged cards/decks can easily be turned into artwork once you get a replacement, such as collages or even put under glass for tables for decoration. You can use things like Mod Podge and put them on notebook covers, too.
5. Retired decks can be added to journal pages to enhance your notes so you don't have to draw/print them yourself. This will add some bulk to your notebook, so it's best to place them on different parts of the page to help minimize the bulkiness.
