TAROT TIP - You can tell a lot about what is going in a Tarot spread by simply looking at the numbers. Especially when consecutive numbers pop up in your spread.
Probability-wise, this is not something that is bound to happen very often, as the odds of getting three or more cards with consecutive numbers are very slim. When it does happen, it is not a random occurrence (is anything in life random??). Getting consecutive numbers in a spread it is definitely something important to take note of.
In the example below we see The HIGH PRIESTESS (a “2” card), the THREE OF CUPS, (a “3” card), and the FOUR OF WANDS (a “4” card). 2, 3, and 4. Read from left to right, the numbers are getting bigger.
How do we interpret this? For me, these cards represent a situation that is moving forward, helping the querent make progress in some aspect of his or her life. Here, it looks as if listening to one’s intuition (THE HIGH PRIESTESS) will help the querent find the right people (THREE OF CUPS) to do stuff with and build a solid foundation for friendship (FOUR OF RODS). These cards are showing the querent how to move forward in the area of finding his or her tribe.
And what does it mean if you see cards with consecutive numbers that are decreasing in value? You guessed it! That indicates a situation that is deescalating or moving backwards. Something is coming undone.
