Although the first time I really understood the meaning of the Empress was when I saw her depicted as "The Fairy Godmother" in the fairy tale tarot and then as Demeter in the Mythic Tarot. And then as Titania in the mythical creature tarot, not to mention Diana of Ephesians in Tyldwick. But then those are all specific representations of what we call "the divine feminine" so, I went to the primal...Lady Frieda Harris' lovely depiction of the Empress. Certainly one of the most beautiful cards in the deck. And one of the most cryptic.
