surprisingly enough levi found what he was meant to be searching for, but had he known a deadly poison would be inside of the jars he maybe would have lied and said he found nothing. because the last person who should have that kind of product to weaponize was his  boss...and what does levi do- the stupid stupid man, he does what he does best and steals it. granted it led to a big fight that his years of training had him prepared for. jumping off of roofs, running through alley’s, having an epic fight in said alley as he kept the jar from  breaking. only for it to lead to a subway chase, which again, not as epic as the alley but he did knock out a guy before throwing him out the closing doors. and again the chase went on, luckily enough it ended up in an airport, and did he steal a private cargo plane? yes!! it was honestly the second time he’d done it successfully but he was off. back to a familiar country...only to crash land outside of his destination. and what do you know, money can find anything. he again was on the chase, bruised and tired, but he still had the jar, and it was a bus station that he found himself fighting on this time- which would have been fine had they not brought a knife to a fist fight. so what do you know...he fights off four guys while acquiring a new knife would. at least at the end of the day he had a new knife. but he gets away and was on his way to his destination.

so coming back may not have been the most tactful of ideas, granted he did jump out of moving taxi to hide his true destination in case anyone was following him and practically crawled into her office. once again breaking in, but less sneakily, something definitely fell after he climbed through the window. but this time he had a wound that needed tending and a nap that needed taking. and he knew an argument would be coming, granted he wouldn’t have the energy because he spent so much time trying to get here because there was nowhere else he could go. at least he here knew someone, as much as she hated him, would actually help because at the end of the day she knew artifacts. “too bad i have to hear you complain about the blood on the floor,” was honestly his last words before he lost consciousness right in front of her desk.

Missy was never a fan of when Dominique had to entertain suitors although she could never explain exactly why other than her lady never seemed happy with the experience. It was nice that all of that was over for now and it was the two of them in the privacy of Dominique’s chambers as Missy helped her get ready for bed and they talked. The discussion turned to that of the many men and what their expectations were of Dominique when her friend admitted to never having been touched in that way. It wasn’t surprising, women were supposed to remain pure. “I wouldn’t feel embarrassed,” Missy soothed, running her hand up and down Dom’s arm. “I haven’t either. One of the kitchen boys kissed me once, but that was all.” She licked her lips and added with a tint to her cheeks. “I do sometimes, um, do things to myself.” It was a shy admission but Dominque knew everything about her. “It’s nice to feel good. I don’t think it’s fair the men should get to be the ones to do things without being frowned on.

mia had been on her feet the whole day. dealing with patients, writing charts, and codings. she was exhausted but she still had things to do at home. as she was preparing dinner for two, she felt a pair of arms snake around her waist and gave her a tight hug. she could burst into tears with that simple hug. all her frustration and exhaustion was slowly escaping her body the longer they held her. “thank you.” her voice small as she took a break from her cutting vegetables. “Uh-- hey?” Roman’s eyebrow raised as he hit the punctuation. He’d felt her eyes on him almost immediately but he was finishing up a consult with a client. He’d seen this woman before, he was sure of it. His brow furrowed in thought a moment, mind attempting to move past the blur of it. Whereever it was, it was likely he’d been wasted. Otherwise he had a thing for faces. “Are you looking for a consult?”

Charlotte took a sip of her own glass as she watched and saw a rather beautiful smile thrown in her direction. Even before, looking downtrodden, the woman had been eye-catching, but when Charlotte saw that smile, she knew that she had made the right choice in attempting a move. When she was invited over, the blonde inwardly celebrated to know that she had won and she grabbed her purse, standing from the table and crossing the room towards the chair awaiting her. 

“I just can’t stand to see anyone as pretty as you looking lonely.” she began as she placed down her purse, holding out the now free hand to the woman in greeting. “I’m Charlotte.”

She was humble almost to a fault, and that fault almost stopped her from listening to her friends when they encouraged her to take the free trip. Truth be told, that was what she was blaming it on, a perfectly shallow excuse that would hurt feelings if she needed to, but Soraya was just a touch intrigued, maybe even a little open. A small smile was there, hinting at the corners of her mouth, before it bloomed entirely, genuine joy painted there for a moment before she shook her head. “Stop looking at me like that, it was just a free flight to better weather.”

It was always easy to pin point the exact place it went wrong, the second that the weakness became more than that, it became a liability. Calliope told herself she retired from homewrecking a long time, even with her profession being taken into account, but this was different. She...was different. Every cheesy line rolled right into one, the living, breathing, exception to the rule. She held the glass of whiskey in one hand, like it helped her to think, pointing with the same hand as if the thought had just occurred to her. “That’s right, your married to someone who treats you like shit, and you make excuses for them, and yet, you’re still here.” A pause, head tilting. “Sound about right. or did I miss something?”
