This morning, I asked the cards “How do I honour my mind, body and spirit?” I drew the Ace of Swords, the Knight of Swords and the 2 of Swords from Tarot for Kids. ⭐ I’m at the beginning of a journey. I need to cut away all the negative thoughts so that I can ride forwards, never looking back at what came before. My progress is often halted or stopped by holding on to memories of the past or wishing for what was instead of embracing what is and what can be. ⭐ I keep thinking of all the work that I’ve done on myself, every step that I’ve taken. I honour my body by eating right, exercising and (this is new!) paying attention to what my body needs at any given moment. I’m very good at tuning into my spirit and letting it guide me and nourish me. My mind is a totally different matter. ⭐ Lately, I’ve been working my way out of a depression and the dark forest that has been surrounding me in my mind. I have to use that Sword to cut down those trees so I can let the light in and see my path forwards. It will give me a direction and I need to remember that my mind is my most powerful weapon. ⭐ I need to let go of what I’ve been holding on to. I have to put down those two Swords and take off the blindfold so that I can see how far I’ve come and where I will be going. All I can do is sparkle on and embrace positivity. This morning, I asked the cards “How can I be kinder to myself?” I drew The Moon, the Knight of Coins and the 7 of Cups from Tarot for Kids. 🌟 I need to see myself in a new light. Sometimes, we lose sight of who we are and lose our direction. Sometimes, it’s difficult to see ourselves as we really are. There are all kinds of emotions running through me and I’m never sure which one to pay attention to. ⭐ For myself, I know that I have to shed light on the parts of me that I normally try to hide away and shove into the shadows. Part of being kinder to myself is acknowledging all of myself and being grounded enough to find my way through the dark. I can’t get distracted by what my emotions say I should be. I have to embrace what I am and be proud of that. 🌟 In the end, I need to look at all of myself and see all of me. This morning, I asked the cards "What will I overcome today?" I drew the Queen of Cups from Tarot for Kids. ⭐ I've been a riot of different emotions lately and often they have poured from me like water or flame, catching me unaware with their strength. There has been so much going on within because of what has been going on around me. ⭐ The Queen gazes into her cup giving herself a focus. She is highly emotional but also empathic and very wise. She is kind and knows when to look within to understand the world around her. ⭐ I will use my wisdom and my inner strength to overcome the emotional wave that is within me. The kid in me is so happy! ⭐ When I herd that Theresa Reed was doing a new Tarot deck for kids, I was intrigued. I love her work and her contributions to Tarot but I was insanely curious about how she would do a deck of Tarot cards for kids. I pre-ordered it mostly sight unseen and I have to say that I am enchanted and so so happy! ⭐ I’m often asked what Tarot deck would be good for kids and while there are a few of them, there has never been a deck designed primarily for kids. With art by Kailey Whitman and the book by Theresa Reed, this is a deck that anyone, even grown-up kids such as myself, will love. I love everything about this deck. ⭐ The guidebook by Theresa Reed is so well done and the art by Kailey Whitman is so beautiful and whimsical. I know that the deck is directed towards children, but the art just pulls you in regardless of your age.
