Found in the central and eastern Himalayas, southern China, northern Myanmar, northern Vietnam, and Taiwan, these Old World Flycatchers inhabit mixed broadleaf and conifer forests. They eat insects, foraging mostly on the ground. Breeding from April to July in their Indian range, they build cup-shaped nests in crevices in banks. Females lay clutches of three or four eggs.
