Yknow what would be a great way to start each episode of the These Broken Stars tv show?

Tarver's interrogation.

Imagine each episode starting in a dark room with Tarver (perhaps the camera showing wounds or marks from what happened in that episode) sassing the investigator. Itll cover the chapters that are done in each episode, and almost in a Lost sort of way have a parallel to the story to braid in.

And if the show continues onto the other books (which I dream of happening) they could start with Jubilee's dreams and the Collective's observations. Itd be such a cool way of introducing each new segment!

After finishing Undying in the car, I decided I needed a new wallpaper. They aren't very good but anyone is welcome to them.

Sofia and Jubilee were probably bridesmaids and Gideon and Flynn were probably groomsmen for Lilac and Tarver's wedding.

One year ago today (December 1st) I read the second book of the Starbound trilogy, and the final book was released.

I began These Broken Stars in October, and while at first the reading was a bit slow, quickly I became enticed by the story and devoured the first book. I had preordered the next two books, which were to arrive December first.

I couldn’t wait that long. I read and reread every preview of This Shattered World I could find, and it made me hunger for the books only more. I could barely focus in school, because all I could think of was what would happen to Jubilee at the rebel base or how Flynn would keep her alive.

When I finally got home and the books were waiting for me, I sat down and began. It took me less than a day to finish This Shattered World, my all-time favorite book. I finished Their Fractured Light two days later.

Since then these books have truly given me life, a new perspective on living, and keeps me moving forward. I can’t thank Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner enough for creating this world that has engrossed me. You’re work is truly amazing and a year later I’m still just as excited to reread these books as the first time.

And thanks to the artists and editors for creating beautiful pieces to keep this blog going.

Here’s to a year of Starbound fascination, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for this trilogy and the other works of Amie and Meagan.

This Shattered World is a Romeo and Juliet story with two star crossed lovers.

In the shakespearean play the story takes place in the ‘fair city of Verona’.

Jubilee’s home planet was Verona.

Star-Crossed in Space:'These Broken Stars' Review

In Greek mythology, Icarus was an ambitious man who died after ignoring advice not to fly too close to the sun on his feather-and-wax constructed wings.  When he did so anyway, the wings melted, and Icarus fell into the sea and drowned.  Its hubris theme, of willful ignorance and self-destructive arrogance can be found in James Cameron’s Titanic, and is echoed in Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner’s These Broken Stars.  The YA sci-fi/romance novel draws on the class issues of the romantic drama with its main characters coming from two different worlds.  There’s Lilac LaRoux (who the authors doubled down on the Rose Dewitt-Bukater comparisons with the red hair and privileged, gilded cage), and then there’s Tarver Merendson (who deviates from his Jack Dawson mold as a soldier, occupying a space of lower class than the ultra-wealthy LaRouxs but not being impoverished by any means).  Though the initial chapters is Titanic in space,  These Broken Stars quickly becomes a survival story after the luxury spaceliner (called Icarus) falls from the sky, and Tarver and Lilac crash-land together on a mysterious planet where they’re alone with the exception of ominous whispers.
