I was tagged by the lovely tashacarolina to do the question thing. I like the question things. I'm not always so great at responding to them that quickly, but I like them because they make me think. Also this is a great break from my note taking that I've been doing all night at work.
Right, so... there are rules apparently.
Answer the questions of the person who tagged you.
Let them know you tagged them.
1. If you could swap lives with any fictional character, who would you swap with and why?
Hrmm. That's actually a tough one. I think if I really had to choose, I'd swap lives with Daine from the Tamora Peirce novels. She's independent, smart, doesn't need no man, she can talk to animals (how cool would that be??) and she can change into different animals. She knows what she wants in life and goes after it. My copy of Wild Magic is falling apart, I've read it so many times. :(
2. What song, book and movie never fail to make you happy?
The song that never fails to put a smile on my face is "Bubble Toes" by Jack Johnson. I remember driving along the highway with my mom listening to his album (Brushfire Fairytales) and as soon as Bubble Toes came on, we'd turn the volume up as loud as we could stand it and belt it out together. If you haven't seen it or heard it, you should go do that. No seriously. Click here and go watch it.
The book that never fails to put a smile on my face... that's a bit harder. I read books rather fast, and I tend to not re-read them very often because I remember all the main plot points and that's not very fun for me. I also mainly read romance (judge me freely, okay) so that isn't helping much. Though, I think if I had to pick my favorite I'd have to pick Jude's Law by Lori Foster. (I'm so totally not answering this question right). It was my first major romance book that I read (I think I was seventeen or so) and I always get a smile on my face when I look at it on my bookshelf. Does that count? lol
Movie that always puts a smile on my face. Bend it Like Beckham. I was a big soccer player for a large part of my childhood. I can watch that movie on repeat and not get sick of it.
3. Something happens and you’re left with the following options: only being able to read books, or only being able to watch movies, for the rest of your life. What do you choose?
Well this is an easy choice. I'd pick the only able to read books option all day any day no contest.
4. Is there something that will forever remind you of your hometown? Why?
Hrmm. My hometown is a little beach town in Florida. I guess I'd have to say the ocean. Or any large body of water that I can't see across for that matter.
5. What does the perfect day look like to you?
My perfect day would start out by waking up around ten am (I'm so seriously not a morning person). I'd spend a few hours at my favorite little coffee house in my town, just so I could be out of the house. Then I'd probably go home and curl up with my kindle and my cat for an afternoon reading session. I'd end the day with cookie dough and a movie with my favorite guy (cookie dough, ftw!) cuddled up on the couch.
6. If you had the power to change the world in an instant, what would you do first?
I think that the first thing I would do is end world hunger. Partly because I am sad thinking of all the people in the world that go hungry because they either can't find food or can't afford it. The other small part of me choose this so that those commercials about donating for food aid will stop. (I'm sorry but those commercials bug the shit out of me, idk why).
7. What’s your favourite quote and why?
"The problem is not the problem; the problem is your attitude about the problem." - Captain Jack Sparrow.
This is one of my favorites because it reminds me that my attitude has an way of coloring the way that I see the world.
8. Pack your bags, you’re apparating to… Where are you going, actually? Somewhere you’ve never been before, but always wanted to go to?
If I could apparate and go anywhere, I'd have to pick Ireland. Or maybe Scotland. I have the hardest time picking between the two.
9. What’s your favourite place in the whole world?
If I could pick one place to be right now in this very instant, I'd choose Kihei beach on Maui. Tan sand, blue water and the distant outlines of both Lanai and Kaho'Olawe. So beautiful, so peaceful.
10. Is there someone you have a really special bond with, and is there a story you have about them?
My best friend Alyssa and I have been friends since second grade (sixteen years). When we were nineteen, we drove from the panhandle of Florida to Deleware by ourselves. it was SO FUN. On the way back we decided to make a small detour and go through Baltimore, Maryland. Have y'all ever seen the show Ace of Cakes? We were obsessed with it and the shop that the show was based on is in Baltimore. So we get to Baltimore and we get lost. Very lost. We were in the right area, but we got very confused with the way the roads were laid out. It took us like an hour and a half to get to the bakery... and when we finally did get there...it was all dark. Closed. We were sad for a moment, and then we got excited because we were there. We took turns peeking through the windows into the bakery, and we found a scrap piece of paper in the car that we used to write a "OMG WE LOVE YOU" note that we slipped under the door. Then we got back in the car and tried to leave the city...and we got lost again. lol
11. Something that you know you should be doing, but haven’t gotten around to yet.
Yes. Ugh. lol I should be working on revamping my resume for my job hunt as a pharmacy tech in a few months... but I haven't started yet. I haven't had to look at my resume since November of 2010. Whoops. I should probably work on that...right? Right.
Okay. MY QUESTIONS: (eleven is a weird number, btw)

2. What is your least favorite genre of book to read? Why?
3. What movie are you MOST looking forward to seeing this year? What is the least?
4. What is your favorite animal?

9. Star Trek or Star Wars?
10. What is the most annoying song on the radio right now for you?
11. Cookie dough or a cookie after it's been baked?
I'm not going to tag anyone in particular for this, so if you want to answer them, feel free. Not answering them is cool too. (Though it's fun to see peoples answers, I'm not going to lie.)
OH AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF BUBBLE TOES. K THANKS. Even if you hate it, I'm curious to know. :)
