PART ONE: THE REGULAR BUCKET LIST

PART TWO: OUT OF TIME

If someone told me I had a week to live, I don’t think I’d be scared. I’d just be sad. it seems like, whilst yes I’ve had a good life, it’s just beginning. I’m about to marry the love of my life, we’re about to start a family. I feel content with my life but I don’t think I’m even close to finished living it. My priorities wouldn’t change much, they’d still revolve around Casie and Kells. I think I’d just spend the week with them. Loving them, being close to them. I know I’d tell Kells, I’m not sure if I’d tell Casie. I’d tell Tyler too, and our crew-maybe see them all for a day. I’d still get married though, I’d like to die as Joshua Baker. -Get married; I don’t think I could die without marrying the love of my life -Spend a day or two with my closest friends; I’d need one more happy memory with them but I wouldn’t want to be away from Kells and Casie too long either -Create some form of art; so at least part of me can live on forever.

PART THREE: LIFE EXPERIENCE

Josh very vividly remembered the moments that made it feel as though he’d become a part of a new family. He hadn’t necessarily started it but, well this was more than good enough for him. There were two very specific situations that stuck out in his mind that defined the moment he’d become a part of the Baker family; one of them was when he made the decision to part ways with his own disapproving family for Kells and Casie instead, the other was just after Kells had proposed; Josh could feel heat just radiating off of him, most notably his face and his ring finger. As time passed, it would begin to feel odd if he wasn’t wearing his ring, but for now it was new and the metal band around his ring finger wasn’t something that he was accustom to. He was more than aware of it but despite this he’d glance down at it every so often as though reminding himself that it was real. Every so often he’d feel it being spun around or played with, a reminder that his fiance was walking by his side with their hands intertwined. He couldn’t stop beaming, so much so that it was almost embarrassing, but he didn’t mind. No one could really see anyways, it was late therefor dark. Every few steps he’d take, he’d feel a bump against his collar bone. Casie’s feet rested on either side of the bone as she sat on his shoulders, leaning on Josh’s head as she yawned sleepily, trying to get comfortable without falling off. The drummer was looking back down at his ring when he heard Kells talking to the mans daughter about it being late, telling her that she’d have to go straight to her room to get changed and get into bed. Josh craned the head to watch the girls reaction with a grin as they walked. Though she was obviously tired, she whined in protest anyways. “But daddy-” she started with a pout. Josh silently listened to them debate it for a while, giggling to himself.  “Can I at least sleep with you and Dad tonight?” she asked, looking over at Kells. Josh almost stumbled. They’d spoken a couple days prior about how Casie felt having Josh always around so suddenly and what she thought of him maybe being like her dad. Josh felt odd about it. He loved the girl like his own but he knew that being already as old as she was, she might not accept the idea of it right away. But she seemed fine, they got along well and she said she didn’t mind it. She just hadn’t called him Dad until now. Kells and Casie continued speaking like nothing happened and Josh zoned out as he thought about it, bewildered. He started grinning again not long after, deciding that this was his family now, and he couldn’t have been happier.
