He was abandoned by his father when he was just a small child. He was then raised by his mom until she met and later married a man by the name of Grady Drysdale who adopted Ryan and raised him as his own. When Ryan is older he is approached by Nikolai Marchette who offers him a job as a bodyguard for his daughter Nicola who he had met after he had been hired not knowing who she was at first. As time went on the two became attracted to each other and eventually a relationship began. Against her fathers wishes the two continue their relationship and eventually become engaged. Nikolai soon promotes Ryan to be his right hand man, his enforcer in an attempt to break the pair up but Nicola is pregnant. His relationship with Nicola is destroyed when their own daughter is taken and murdered. Despite going though couples therapy and individual therapy their relationship couldnāt be saved. Nicola breaks things off and leaves New York after her mother is killed and her father it sent to prison. Over the years Ryan and Nicola find each together much like moths to the flame and wind up conceiving another child together. Despite the fact that he didnāt know about his daughter until she was around the age of 2 or 3 he agreed not to see her or Nicola in order to keep them safe as he is an enforcer for another family and Nicola wanting to keep their daughter safe.

He was born to Katya and Vieslav Marchette. His father was the head of the Marchette family so Nikolai was raised to take over the family business once he was old enough. His mother died when he was in his twenties and his father didnāt deal with the loss like normal people would. He would marry his high school sweetheart Eryn and the two of them would run The Marchette Gallery together. Nikolai would go on and have a one night stand with a woman in a bar which would later turn into an affair with the woman. The one night stand would result in the birth of his only child Nicola who he adopts with his wife Eryn. His relationship with Nicola is not a good one as she refuses to have anything to do with him after her first born daughter is murdered at the age of 7.He is still pulling strings while his is behind bars which explains why he knows about his granddaughter Waverly who is now the same age as Sarah was when she was murdered.

Nansi has her demons and like most people she deals with them every single day. She has one daughter Nicola who she had originally thought to have been her boyfriends at the time. Nansi had a one night stand with a very dangerous man who she would later begin and on going affair with even after the death of his wife Eryn who would be the only true mother figure in Nicolaās life. She gave Nicola up for adoption because she couldnāt deal with the thought of having a child and having her addictions at the same time. Little did she know that she would be raised by her own father until later on.Ā Ā She slowly begins to try to get to know her daughter who finds out the truth and after Nansi stole a piece of jewelry that Eryn had given to Nicola and pawned it for drug money Nicola cut all ties and leaves New York for a while. Nansi reaches out to Nicola in hopes of a second chance after getting clean and sober. Nicola doesnāt trust Nansi and doesnāt know that she is still in communication with her biological father.
