How I planned for the week.
Should I do more of these?
Why I don’t use a bullet journal:
So basically, I’ve tried bullet journaling like 3 or 4 times and every time I start, I stay committed to it for about a week and then I get busy or forget about it. The main reason I try to keep a bullet journal is so I can keep track of the things I have to do related to school and just life. But what gets in the way is having to draw up each weeks spread on time and worrying about it being aesthetic and tumblr worthy.
The alternative I use:
Taskade is an application that works on most devices (the various versions are for: Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, Chrome Extension, Firefox Add-on) and can be downloaded here (x).
What’s good about it:
Though it was originally created for group projects and things like that, it works well for me.
You can have a workspace for school or whatever groups you want.
I love ticking of things on to-do lists, and in taskade you can make heaps of lists - it gets really satisfying.
There are heaps of templates including weekly planners, project boards and mindmaps.
You can add other people to your workspace and there’s an option to have a group chat on it as well which allows for voice and video calls.
Easy to use.
It’s pretty and you can use emojis.
Dark/Light Mode
Pricing:
Free. However there is a paid version that allows for advanced features and customisation, there’s more on that here (x)

The best apps to take digital notes across all devices
In my previous post, I talked about how my laptop is basically my lifesaver. The fact it comes with a stylus makes it so much better. With it, I can highlight and take notes on PDFs but I can also take handwritten notes and even draw. Which for me, is what truly makes the difference, as I feel more comfortable taking handwritten notes. Why digital notes? You don't have to worry about forgetting a notebook, running out of pages or ink. You can go back and delete whatever mistake you have made without making a mess and it is very flexible. You can organize your notes whichever way you find convenient. Some apps even let you search your handwriting, which is something I didn't know I needed. How many times have you tried looking for something in your notes and taken basically an eternity to find it? With digital notes, that is no longer a problem. Taking notes by hand helps you remember better than just typing. So taking the benefits of handwriting and the organizational benefits of going digital, you'll have one of the most effective weapons at your disposal.

How to be productive this summer
Brainstorm! What is being productive for you? If you start with no concrete idea of what being productive means to you, then you're off to an awful start. What would you like to accomplish? What do you wanna learn?
Write your goals down! According to research, people who write down their goals are more likely to accomplish them.
Be specific. A good idea for when you're writing down your goals is using the SMART method. Which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound.
Track your progress. This is why Measurable goals are important. Being able to track your performance, gives you a good overview of how well you're performing and in which areas you can improve.
Make sure to treat yourself. Treating yourself can keep you motivated and help you find a balance between the things you've got to get done and your free time.
How do I do it?
I like to brainstorm ideas with my friends. I often ramble to them about things I wanna do and they often give me good ideas and tips. After that, I write them down using the SMART method. I take my time to design trackers, look for additional information and other things. Very important to do research at this stage. After all that, I make sure to write down a to-do list for the day and make sure to write down a reward for myself after I get all my tasks done. It motivates me to finish all my tasks! Sometimes, it's reading that new manga update or watching the new upload of a YouTuber.
Useful tip: Write your to-do lists in visible places. If you spend a lot of time in your bedroom and have a board, write it there so you can see. If you spend a lot of your time on your browser, consider downloading an extension such as Taskade that allows you to see your lists everytime you open a new tab. You won't forget that way!
