This is a classic burger recipe that will work great at your next barbecue. Beef patties that are juicy and topped with melted cheddar cheese, fresh vegetables, and your favorite sauces.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/4 tsp black pepper. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. Lettuce leaves. Sliced tomatoes. Sliced red onions. Ketchup and mustard, to taste.
Instructions: Warm up the grill or griddle on the stove over medium-high heat. Shape the ground beef into 4 burger patties that are all the same size. Add salt and black pepper to each patty to taste. Put the burger patties on the grill or griddle and cook them for four to five minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you like them more done. In the last minute of cooking, put a lid on top of each patty and add a slice of cheddar cheese. This will melt the cheese. On the grill, toast the hamburger buns until they get a little brown. Put lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and red onion slices on the bottom bun to make the burgers. Put the cooked burger patty on top of the cheese that has gone melty. Put ketchup and mustard on the top bun, and then put it on top of the patty. Enjoy while hot!
