New Cookbook Highlights Best Recipes of the Buckeye State
“There are many Ohios” says chef, food writer, and native Buckeye Sara Bir. “Flat, hilly, rural, decidedly urban. And our food is equally diverse thanks to generations of immigrants from around the world who've made Ohio their home."
Bir's new book, Tasting Ohio: Favorite Recipes from the Buckeye State, celebrates that diversity along with the sheer abundance of Ohio produce. "Agriculture is the state's largest industry," notes Bir, "and people here love to grow food—tomatoes, sweet corn, green beans, berries, chickens, pigs, and more."
The hardcover, full-color cookbook features breakfast dishes, appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts from the Buckeye State’s best restaurants, cafés, diners, brew pubs, and bed-and-breakfasts.
