How long does it take to create / write a page ( just curious sorry if this sounds rude)
Also i am very certain the yaoi is doomed
You don't sound rude don't worry!! I know you asked for just a page but I wanted to answer for a whole chapter too For just a single page it really depends, if I know exactly where the scene is going and what the dialogue is going to be and stuff like that, I'd say roughly 15-30 minuets?? But if I have no clue or am just stumped it can take me probably over an hour mostly because I'm stuck just staring at my screen or notes and groaning TOT For a whole chapter it used to just take me a week roughly if you include planning time when I first started (I wish I could go back to that holy mackerel), but I think as time has gone on I've gotten a lot harder on myself with wanting things to be perfect. Which is definitely why the last few chapters (including this one) have taken so long. If I sat down and forced myself I could probably get it done in that time again, I think its just a lot of perfectionism paralysis
A bit more on my writing process: I have a notebook (aptly named Thalassophobia Lore book) that I plan everything in (of course Milanote as well) but I like the notebook for planning singular chapters. I write a summary of the chapter, sometimes I bullet note before hand but most of the time I have it mostly planned in my head so I'll just write. It usually takes up 6 pages in the notebook sometimes more. it's kind of a very short and shitty first draft. It helps me know where to go and what to expand on when writing the real thing. That part takes me several hours, I think for the last chapter I was in a café for 4 hours just writing in that notebook. Anyway I love my awful dollar store notebook, I would get a better one but I'm too attached and would need to fill it completely before I moved on
And hey, they're not completely doomed, I have the "Eventual Happy Ending" tag in there for a reason
Btw just sent an 11k word explicit maybe one shot, maybe 2 chapter fic to my beta but either way it's totally done! Look for that to be posted sometime later this week 🥳
I'd say there are two games that have taught me valuable life lessons.
Hiveswap taught me to never support anything on Kickstarter.
Monster Crown taught me to never buy an indie game on release day.
It's honestly a toss up which one has been the bigger disappointment overall.
I could do that with one of the previous projects' leftover dragons, but then I would need to breed an unrelated mate, which would take forever... (and I already probably need an unrelated mate for that OTHER thorntail, uugh)
pain
I swear, sometimes I'm glad I watch prog videos before going in to do it myself, because I get so nervous going in to a new fight, only to be reminded a LOT of prog is going immediately from
"Okay, I know this"
to
And it makes me feel more prepared for some reason.
