I've seen two instances of The Quiet Year played online - once by Friends At The Table, who used it to create a setting they played another game out inside of, and once by the Drawfee crew, an art group that creates yt videos. Honestly both of them were really good, well worth checking out
It’s a matter of whether I will get what I want out of it if I play it online, which I don’t think I will. As mentioned it was brought up on The Adventure Zone as something they did for their new campaign, and their show has always been recorded remotely, and they in turn mentioned being directly inspired by Friends at the Table’s use (although I didn’t know that was also done remotely).
I'm sure it will be fun to listen to, but the part that interests me about actually playing it myself is the experience of being in a room with others creating a physical map, and I’d rather wait to play it until that time.
