Top 20: Tavare — Too Small To Be So High
Dusted review
Aidan Baker (of Nadja, solo stuff, and far too many other groups and collaborations to keep up with) is always good for some of my favourite records of the year, but I was a bit surprised that in 2025 it was this debut by his new slowcore trio with Tristen Bakker and Ángela Muńoz instead of say, the new Nadja album (which is very good!). I liked it on first listen but did not expect it to stick with me so strongly or become one of the albums I listened to the most this year. Part of both of those is just how often I got Bakker's vocals stuck in my head, but I'm sure part of it is just that the children yearn for the mines slowcore.
