A person can fall for any ideology of some one else's without accurate knowledge. I've seen time and time again persons presumably take things from others behind their back. Then try and justify it. In a variety of ways. When Jesus walked this earth, he was not harping on the very things that people today with the money and access to exploit do. I'm sincerely not tickling your ears. Your life matters. Your livilhood matters. And you are certainly not taking anything away from God who owns all the Gold and silver. And who also instituted family and property inheritances. Sometimes it isn't that you weren't capable of managing riches, you just so many misleading situations around you suffocating your mental, emotional, and spiritual state that there wasn't the calm or peace you needed to sort it out. THIS is why some people are in the state they are in. And you matter. People matter as a whole, but the individual is still important as well. Any body tech you different, it's because they still need to grow in their relationship with God maybe and stop being in a "Sybil Mommy Role" Her mother believed in God, but she was crazily abusive in God's Name. Sybil's mom was wrong. Regards, James

Day 18 of Project Glowing Rectangle, in which I try to divert some of my daily doomscrolling time back towards a more nourishing oblong: Cinema.
Today's film was Matinee (1993), a Joe Dante comedy about 1960s B-movies. John Goodman plays a movie impresario whose gimmicky new film Mant ("Half man, half ant, all terror!") is about to premiere — right at the start of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Will his new film scare the already antsy audience too much? Or is a good scare just what the doctor ordered?
I think I've watched too many Big Serious Films in a row, so I felt like something more fun and comforting today. I remembered Matinee fondly. And you'd think a film about films would be ideal for my project about getting back into films, right?
Unfortunately I just wasn't feeling it. I can't fault the cast (hey, it's Robert Picardo out of Star Trek: Voyager!), and the B-movie pastiche of Mant is spot-on. But I just wasn't having fun with it. Maybe my mood is to blame? Oh well.
