@tavern519 Fancy Tots | truffle oil, pecorino romano, fresh herbs w/ roasted garlic aioli #tbt to Labor Day Weekend when the gals and I enjoyed some fun in the sun on the Delaware River and dove into Tavern 519's gourmet tater tots. When you order these, you are going to channel your inner Napoleon Dynamite if someone asks for some your tots..."No, go find your own!" Because I am a fancy lady, I ordered the Fancy Tots and boy oh boy did my taste buds fancy them! I had to control myself while eating them so I could also enjoy the entree special I ordered, Seared Ahi Tuna w/ Creamy Mushroom Polenta. They were perfectly crispy and the flavors of the truffle oil, pecorino romano, and scallion married beautifully together. And the roasted garlic aioli...just picture the scene from Flashdance when Alex (Jennifer Beals) releases a vat of water on herself...that's what I wanted to do after dipping these tots into it! So, if you are in need of some tasty, local eats after cruising down the Delaware, get on over to Tavern 519 and get some tots with your meal! You can order them as tater tots or fries and try the three other varieties you can sink your teeth into (see below). The Poutine Tots are also incredible! Me and the boys were serving river fish realness as we floated down the Delaware River this Labor Day Weekend. Perfect company and perfect weather! After the sunny afternoon of being on the river, we hopped over to @tavern519 to finish off the day with some killer eats. If feeling and smelling like a fish after coming off the river was not enough, I ordered the special, Seared Ahi Tuna served with Creamy Mushroom Polenta. It was absolutely delicious! I also ordered a side of Fancy Tots which I will feature later this week. Now those were something out of this world! Tavern 519 is a hidden gem off the beaten path outside of Frenchtown, NJ. Whether you are finishing up a day of tubing on the river or traveling up Route 29, my company and I would absolutely recommend enjoying the al fresco dining here.
