People watch The Amazing World of Gumball and think it's a kid's show with stupid protagonists, which is true. I just want to make the point that Gumball, while being absolutely weak and pretty stupid, is actually one of the most brilliant characters on the show, without being intelligent.
This comes out during fights and combat sequences. He notices subtle changes in a troll when it gets insulted, and strats ROASTING THE EVERLOVING SHIT oit of it. He blocks all of Rob's hits, after one run through the day, with one arm. That means he memorized his attack patterns after one fight.
For god's sake, he found loopholes to take down Bobert and defeat the entire internet. Hus plan- making skills (to defeat someone) are on point. He knew the frog guy was something weird despite having absolutely no evidence. He used Banana Barbara's powers to annihilate Rob. He was the only one to notice that if the briefcase had the money, the other one has the bomb.
Tl;dr: Gumball Waterson lacks common sense and self-control, but he could (and has) defeated threats that could erase the entire earth.
The news that Gumball is coming back reminded me of a Regular Show/Gumball crossover fic I planned but never wrote like... god, about a decade ago. Don't remember too many details, but the set-up would've been Gumball's class doing a field trip to the park, and I also had it that Carrie was High Five Ghost's niece or something like that.
HFG: (to Mordecai and Rigby) "My niece is a part of the class we have coming, so can you guys please not cause any trouble for once?"
Mordecai: "Whaaat? When do we ever cause trouble?"
Benson: "You're kidding, right?? Just last week you two knuckleheads summoned Nyarlathotep into the east bathrooms!"
Mordecai: "And we banished him back to the distant peaks of Unknown Kaddath."
Rigby: "Yeah, you guys keep forgetting that part."
Skips: "That was me that banished him."
Rigby: "... Well, we helped."
an underrated moment from the amazing world of gumball
Okay but The Apprentice from The Amazing World of Gumball was a bloody trip and a half
