So, as you may know, this weekend Elon took over the Treasury Department with a group of engineers, and while there are several lawsuits, fights, discussions, and people revolting at this moment(Please continue, we need to make sure they know we are not going to let this go.)

We now know some of the things he did, is doing, and a reason; so, first, he eliminated a program that democrats fought over in which you can file taxes for free, it was a new tool that would allow thousands of taxpayers to file them without having to go and pay someone or a corporation to do them, it is as of now gone, just in time for tax season.

Second, he is telling people that work from home that he is not going to give them their rightful money if they keep working from home.

And third, last time when the Trump administration cut the taxes on the rich, it was hard to do because they would have to find the money to make up for it, which is why they are trying to cut so many agencies now, once again lawsuits and discussions are happening right now as a direct result, but that doesn't change that this is just so they can fill their pockets and fortunately enough it seems Congress is mad about the overstepping of power and they don't have military support.

Also, Trump's plans to get Gaza have already stepped in by international law and a court of law, so there is that.

have you heard people talking about filing your taxes for free and/or online? this is true!

what they don't tell you (or at least not the ones ive seen) is that your FEDERAL and/or STATE return may not be free and depends on your income. if you go through different filing websites directly they may not tell you this. i almost paid $16 to file my state tax return (which, albeit is not much but still!) and instead accessed the website directly from the IRS then made a new account and was able to file my state tax return for free.

the best part! the IRS will do the search for you and let you know if you can get free filing in your state!

i used the guided software -> find a trusted partner and it let me file through FreeTaxUSA for free! and upload all my documents virtually! huzzah!

if you already know your annual income is under $89,000 and would like to file online you can choose whether to pick your own or let the IRS recommend you options on where to file hereeeeeee

sharing this just in case someone needs it! i spent almost 2 hours doing my taxes when the process only takes 30 min or less because i got a weird vibe from TurboTax (would not let me file unless i accepted multiple terms that said "we were not going to sell your data we pinky promises") and then, as i mentioned, i went through filing with FreeTaxUSA only to see I was going to have to pay $16 to file my state taxes when my i shouldn't have to! do not pay if you do not have too!!
