Why does the Taylor from the first three books feel like a completely different character than the Taylor in Plague onward?
Let me explain. In the first three books, we don't get much Taylor dialogue, but we do get her POV in Hunger. She's shown as loyal and grateful to Sam, so grateful she's willing to give up her own life for him. We're told she's a gossip and I guess we see a bit of it in Lies, but we mostly just see her delivering messages to Sam at all times of day and night (which, I'd like to point out, would mess up her sleep schedule too) and having to be stopped by Edilio from bouncing into a burning house to save some kids.
Yet in Plague, she's a lot more... flippant, for lack of better words; she abandons Sam and stays in Perdido Beach with Caine. They also say she's no good in a fight, despite the fact that she was in two major battles. Is this really the same person who was so grateful for being saved (from Caine's cementing, might I add) that she risked her life for Sam? It certainly doesn't feel like it.
