Taylor Morrison: Frauds and Posers

… my least favorite builder to work for. Actually, I'd go as far as to say if we had nothing but TM sites, I'd of never hired on. I get along with all the other builders CMs, just not Taylor Morrison. I am certain that their employees are vetted or trained to see subcontractors as liars and thieves. They just have that attitude. None of the other builders do it.

When I worked for Florida Stairs in Ft Myers, five of us put in handrails and treads at Taylor Morrison, Esplanade at Naples. The filthiness of the site and interior of the two story townhouses was a magnificent testimony to the ineffectualness of OSHA. One could literally see, in three porto-poties a pile of feces above the toilet lid and a cloud of flies around them. TM just left them there...for months.

The two story townhouses were filthy with dirt, and drywall debris. It was so bad when anyone upstairs opened a window, the draft would bring a gale force breeze laden with dirt and drywall dust (think silicosis) down the stairway. All of us would have to close our eyes and hold our breath and feel our way to the exit. All five of us had severe coughs after a week.

At Taylor Morrison, Esplanade, Fort Myers, I met Dan Antonell, another Taylor Morrison CM. I'll never forget Dan. My first day with my new cabinet company, I'm driving in Esplanade looking for an address and Dan runs to the street and screams at me, "I need you to work in this house!" I stopped and looked at my paperwork and told him that the address was not on my list. Dan screamed, "It's on my list!" Dan lived to fuck with the new hires and lie like there nothing better in life to do than lie. The compulsion to lie seems to be another trait for which Taylor Morrison CMs are vetted.

But, Dan was a liar without peer. I was doing a T&A (not tits and ass, touch up and adjust) at one of Dan's houses, and per usual incredibly filthy. Dan came by early and left. He returned later and "discovered" a huge dent in the gas stove top where the granite was broken underneath, also. Dan began to interrogate the clean up crew. They denied any involvement. Above the gas stove top was a stainless hood which had a lot of drywall debris on top of it. Someone had been working above the gas stovetop.

Dan proceeded to interrogate any and every trade that might have worked in this house. All of them denied any responsibility for the damage. Dan then called the workers employers and requested that they interrogate their employees. He did this on speaker phone. All said no.

Dan was done. He was beaten and frustrated. I don't know if Dan was talking to me or just out loud to himself, but he spoke and said, " my boss Steve got up there to work on that stainless hood and he didn't have a fucking clue what he was doing". I was little more than stunned. And I asked him, "so you knew who did the damage and tried all morning to get all those workers to take the blame"? Dan looked at me like he could kill me, and got up and left the room... Taylor Morrison.

So now, there is one more episode with Taylor Morrison CMs that is unfolding. Indigo Lake, Tampa. There are two CMs at this site, DM and MS. I believe DM must have a relative in higher management. He is new, maybe green but seems to be there to show all the other Taylor Morrison CMs just how it is done. No one in five years has ever put tape to indicate repair on a screw holding a DRB to a DDF, no one ever. I don't really have a problem with it or fixing it but if this DMs way to to show how the other CMs are lacking, he's sort of coming off as an empty-headed cunt.

I got an email yesterday from a BSR saying I forgot to do something at one of DMs sites, something done over a month ago...that's a record. That is a huge delay and warrants an explanation, Mr. DM. Let me offer one for you. You just returned from vacation and discovered that, in one of your homes, I had your associate MS take down a cabinet in the Drop Zone and put nailer up as the cabinet could not be safely or securely installed without it. It's not just my opinion it is our companies rule. You forgot the nailer for our cabinet. Also, the studs in that wall were 23" on center (think code violation) and the cabinet was held fast by only two screws way off center. If you had studded the wall to code we could have held it with four screws.

One further comment. A little bird told me that they believe that you return to jobsites that techs have completed and tape more things and claim that the tech refused to do their job, as in the tech ignored the tape. The dishwasher panel had some damage in one of your homes, I repaired it. I was almost immediately notified that I had missed it. I went back and it now had blue tape instead of the original yellow tape and the was sand on the floor and a shoe tread print on the dishwasher panel. It could mean nothing.

Home builder, Taylor Morrison, filed a complaint against Inspector, Cy Porter, after Porter shared videos of his inspections of their new homes in Arizona. The 7 BILLION dollar company described Cy Porter's posts as, "harassing, falsified and bullying."

Protect the public by letting the builders fuck up and not hold them accountable. Instead, penalize the person pointing out the construction mistakes.

The board and Taylor Morrison representatives are concerned about "Professionalism" and "The Industry" but not about "Home Quality" or the public buying these homes??? Surely it is unprofessional to sell homes with construction defects?

Cy needs legal respresentation. The Board's Letter of Concern is setting Cy up for further action.
