Taylor & Gaga - Chapter 16 (Final Chapter)
Something behind Cathy caught Gaga's eye. Could it be? Was she just hallucinating? "Taylor," she whispered under her breath, her heart still thumping loudly.
Cathy, keeping the gun pressed on Gaga's chest, whipped her head around to see a tall, handsome man standing behind them in the room. She breathed a contented sigh. "Taylor, I'm glad you're here. I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier but I thought you might not allow this if you had known, because you have a habit of doing silly things that interfere with our relationship, but I hope we can enjoy this moment together."
Taylor tried his best not to lose his temper. "What moment, dear?" He replied as politely as he could. He knew he had to use his acting skills if he wanted to help his wife.
"This one, what are you talking about?" Cathy frowned as she turned her full body around, pulling the gun away this time. "Don't you realize how important this is? When we get rid of her, we can be together forever. This is the first real step in our relationship!"
"I actually wanted to talk to you about that. In private." Taylor's eyes shifted from Cathy to Gaga nervously. "Before you..." He swallowed hard. "Before you do anything you might regret."
Gaga stood frozen, pressed against the wall silently. She felt dizzy from the ordeal, and all she wanted to do was blink Cathy away and run into Taylor's arms, but she knew she couldn't do that without jeopardizing their safety.
Cathy seemed to contemplate Taylor's words for a moment, before nodding. "Fine, we'll talk first." A smirk crept onto her face. "Then you can help me kill her."
Gaga watched as Cathy grabbed Taylor by the arm and walked out the door. Taylor looked back and discreetly mouthed the words "don't worry" to her. He closed the door behind him, leaving Gaga alone in the room. After about a minute she heard sounds of yelling and arguing coming from the living room. She could have sworn she heard Taylor say "just drop the gun!" Her heartbeat quickened even more and she ran to the door, opening it cautiously. Suddenly, she heard a gunshot and the sound of a body collapsing.
Gaga bolted through the corridors of her house toward the living room. The world seemed to freeze around her, and seconds felt like ages. As she ran into the living room, panting, she was met with the sight of a body lying on the ground in a pool of blood. The body was Cathy's. Gaga started breathing heavily to keep herself from breaking down and crying from both stress and relief as she looked around the room. There were four law enforcement officers standing around the body, and Taylor was standing next to them, looking straight at Gaga, who ran into his arms.. "It's over baby, it's over." He said comfortingly as he ran his fingers through her hair.
A few hours later, after the couple had calmed down a bit and the body had been removed, Taylor explained everything to Gaga: the first text demanding to meet up with him, how he realized it was a trap when no one showed up, and how he called the police immediately. "If I had been a few seconds late..." Taylor stopped abruptly, his words sending a chill down his spine and Gaga's.
"But it's over now, remember? You came just in time, and we're safe now." Gaga lifted her head off of Taylor's chest for the first time since they had started talking and looked into his eyes. They never lost their magic, no matter how many times she looked into them. "My prince charming came to save me..." she said before she began to kiss him softly. "Just in time."
Taylor pulled away suddenly and took Gaga's face in his hands. "I want to be your prince charming forever," he said quietly. "I want to protect you and love you forever, and I won't ever let us lose the love we have."
Gaga let a tear escape from her eye, and she giggled shyly. "I love you so much," she said as she leaned in for another kiss, only to pull back suddenly, keeping their faces millimeters apart so they could feel each others' breath. "And I want to be your princess forever," she added before pressing her lips onto his. They got lost in each others' scent and seemed to get closer and closer with each kiss, until their bodies were pressed as closely together as possible. Their energy and passion was enough to fill the room with love, and the only thing that seemed to matter was the moment they were in together. That night, they made love like it was the first time.
-
Almost a year had passed since their "little adventure," as they liked to call it. Things were going great. Gaga occasionally had nightmares about her miscarriage and Cathy, but they were few and far between now. She had continued her album era, putting out a few new songs inspired by the incident, after she took some time off to let herself breathe.
She sighed as she looked around the hospital room, waiting patiently for the doctor to come in. One of her hands was intertwined with Taylor's, and the other was gently placed over her growing belly.
The doctor came in shortly after, smiling at the couple. "Ready?" She asked as the couple nodded excitedly. She set up the ultrasound equipment and began to probe around Gaga's belly, looking for her baby. When she found it, she smiled happily. "Congratulations, you're having a baby girl!"
Taylor squeezed Gaga's hand, who was nearly squealing with delight. Her smile suddenly turned bittersweet. "Just like the first time..."
"Are you scared?" Taylor asked her. She nodded slowly in response. "Baby, you know the first time, you lost the baby because of the poison. Everything's going to go perfectly this time, I can feel it."
Gaga looked up at him and then at the monitor that displayed their tiny baby, and for the first time since she had gotten pregnant again, she felt safe. She felt perfect. She looked back at Taylor with the majestic gaze that could only belong to her eyes, the one Taylor had fallen in love with, and said, "I can feel it too."

Taylor & Gaga - Chapter 15
Here it is, finally! If you don’t remember what happened because it’s been so long (sorry!) you might want to go back and read the previous chapter on my blog ;)
Cathy gritted her teeth as she read the newspaper article titled, “Lady Gaga Poisoned, Miscarries!” Her plan hadn’t exactly worked out the way she wanted to. Gaga had somehow survived, although her baby hadn’t, making Cathy smirk evilly, but a surveillance video had caught her tampering with Gaga’s food in the kitchen of the restaurant. I better get out of town for a few days until this blows over, she thought to herself. She flung the newspaper onto the ground and frantically began gathering a few belongings, stuffing them into a small suitcase, making sure to pack a few of Taylor’s photos with her. She froze when she picked up the picture where she had X’ed over Gaga’s face and belly. Rage and disgusting thoughts flowed through her sick mind, and she realized she had unfinished business.
-
Gaga rubbed her tired eyes as she stared at the TV screen. She had finally been let out of the hospital two days before, but their predicament was all over the news, and the surveillance video had been played for what seemed like the millionth time. Natali walked over to the sofa where her sister was sitting and grabbed the TV remote, pressing the button to turn it off. “You’ve seen enough of that,” she said as she wrapped her arms around Gaga, slowly pulling her in for a hug. “I love you, Stef,” Natali said softly before kissing her sister’s forehead.
“I love you too,” Gaga replied quietly. Those were the first words she had uttered all day. Her face’s unchanging, blank expression, reflecting the numbness she felt inside, softened a bit at her sister’s comforting touch and words. She didn’t hug her back; she just pressed her body closer, turning her head so it rested on Natali’s shoulder.
Meanwhile, Taylor sat in the kitchen with Gaga’s parents and his own mother (who had all just come to visit their home that morning), discussing what had happened and talking about Gaga. “Thanks for coming, it means a lot to us,” Taylor said, watching his mother and in-laws nod or smile silently as to say no problem, we’re here for you guys. He sighed and shook his head, “I don’t know what to do, I just feel so helpless right now. Stef’s just... She’s not herself. I’m not myself.”
“Give it time, you’re both going through something awful. That’s why none of us came to see you guys the first two days, we wanted to give you some space as a couple,” Cynthia said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
“That’s just it though, I feel like we’re losing each other. Ever since we left the hospital, we’ve barely talked. Sometimes I’ll try to comfort her, or just start a conversation to try to keep us going, you know? And she usually doesn’t even respond. She just looks at me with so much pain in her eyes, and I…” Taylor’s voice trailed off. They all knew what he meant; Gaga hadn’t even talked to any of them when they came. She had just forced a small smile and accepted their hugs, responding to their few questions with shrugs and nods, making little eye contact.
Pam spoke up, trying to reassure her son. “Taylor, I know this is hard for you, but believe me, you won’t lose each other. Stefani is in a really bad place right now; she’s very publicly dealing with the pain of losing a life that was growing inside of her, and I know you’re affected by this too, but it’s a very different experience for her as a woman. She feels sadness, loss, and possibly even guilt. She experienced a brand new kind of love for something so precious, only to have it ripped away from her too soon to see it blossom. She’s also scared because of all this; scared for her own life, for her safety. For your safety. But if there’s one thing I’m sure of as your mother and as someone who’s known your relationship for almost two years now, it’s that she loves you more than anything and I know you return that love, and you need each other to get through this. Don’t give up.”
“Thanks mom, and I’m not going to give up, that’s out of the question. I just wish I knew how to fix this.” At that moment, Taylor felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He picked it up to see that he had a new message, from an unknown number.
Hey babe, I guess you didn’t know yet but I got a hold of your phone number too ;)
Anyway, meet me 2nite at 8:00 p.m. behind that pancake house where I poisoned ur slutty little wife if you want things to go down peacefully from here. No cops or she’s dead. – Your angel
Taylor felt his blood boiling with fury, but also fear. He knew he had to do what this person told him to do, because she had gotten away with hurting Gaga already, and she meant business.
“Who was that?” Joe asked.
“Uh…” Taylor froze for a moment. He didn’t think it would be a good idea to tell them about it. “Just an advertisement.”
Pam and Cynthia shrugged it off, but Joe didn’t seem convinced. Before he could say anything about it, Natali came in with Gaga, who was grinning from ear to ear.
“Well it looks like a little sisterly love did you good, eh?” Taylor smiled and opened his arms for his beautiful wife, who walked right into them, accepting his embrace and wrapping her own arms around his warm body. She closed her eyes and laid her head on his chest, letting the slow rhythm of his heartbeat fill her ear, and she forgot the world around them for a few seconds. Suddenly, Gaga pulled away and took a quick look at everyone with her shimmering green eyes.
“I’m sorry I was kind of cold to all of you earlier,” she said, biting her lip. Her apology was met warmly with love and sympathy, and from that point on the family sat around the kitchen table, talking and laughing together for nearly two hours until it was time for Cynthia, Joe, Natali and Pam to leave.
“Are you guys sure you don’t want to stay in our guest rooms?” Gaga asked.
“No loopy, we’ll give you guys some space,” her dad replied.
Gaga turned to Pamela. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to have to stay in a hotel – ”
“It’s fine, my hotel is walking distance. Besides, you need some alone time,” she said with a wink.
“Well, okay then. Bye everyone,” Gaga said, waving. They all proceeded to say their goodbyes, and soon, Gaga and Taylor were standing side by side, alone, in their house. “T?” Gaga said quietly, with fragility bordering her soft voice. Taylor turned to look at her, met by her deep gaze. He could see her gorgeous eyes glistening with tears; tears she had probably held back all day. “I’m sorry.”
“Oh baby,” Taylor said in a matching soft tone as he picked her up in his arms. “You don’t have to be sorry. It’s okay.” He took her to their bedroom and laid her onto the bed, sitting on the edge of it himself so he could run his fingers through her hair. The silence that had distanced them for the past two days now seemed to bond them together, and they communicated through each other’s energy. Taylor glanced at his watch, which read 7:45 p.m. He looked back at Gaga, who was now peacefully asleep. Thank God, he thought to himself as he gently stepped away from the bed, walking toward the door.
He arrived at the pancake house a few minutes early, walking around it to see if anyone was there. There was a bench next to the building, so he took a seat and waited patiently.
-
Cathy smiled to herself; her plan had worked. Taylor was gone, and she knew all the ins and outs of their apartment, and even how to get into the building. She pressed the elevator button to go to their floor, and walked slowly to their door. Feeling cocky, she decided to text Taylor again; “Hah, you actually fell for that, didn’t you?” She pressed send and pulled a pin out of her hair and began picking the lock. It took her nearly five minutes to get it open, and she cursed herself for not practicing.
Gaga woke up to the sound of the door being forced open. “Taylor?” she said sleepily, her voice raspy. She yawned and stretched her legs, getting off the bed. She opened the door to leave their room, but instead of seeing her husband’s beautiful smile, she was met by the sight of a gun pointed toward her, held by an unfamiliar woman. She gasped and swallowed hard, taking a nervous step back. “Who… who are y-you?”
Cathy cackled menacingly, and all the evil in her cold, demented heart was audible in her laugh, sending a chill down Gaga’s spine. “Who am I? Well, I’m the woman who poisoned you, nice to meet you, bitch. I’m also the woman who’s about to get rid of you once and for all.” Gaga felt the blood drain from her face, and her knees began to quake. “TAYLOR!” she screamed, but there was no response. “He’s not here, it’s just you and me,” Cathy said as she took a step toward Gaga, who inched back again; they continued this until Gaga’s back was pressed against the wall, and she had nowhere else to go. “Bye bye, bitch. I’ll invite your ghost to my wedding with Taylor,” Cathy said, her eyes narrowing.
“You’re sick,” was all Gaga was able to choke out before Cathy pressed the gun against Gaga’s chest, right over the spot where her heart was pounding irregularly. There was no way out. She felt the cold metal on her delicate skin. A single tear rolled down her cheek as she realized a pull of the trigger, a split second decision, would launch a bullet into her heart. So this is where it ends, she thought, looking back on her life thus far for a few seconds. This was it… unless…
Taylor & Gaga - Chapter 14
Gaga shook her head violently. “No, no that’s not true. There has to be some mistake!” She looked desperately for some sign of positivity in Taylor’s eyes, but she was met with the glimmer of tears filling his eyes instead. “No, NO!” Gaga felt as if time had frozen for a moment before she broke down into devastated sobs.
Taylor climbed into the tiny hospital bed carefully and wrapped his arms tightly around his trembling wife, pulling her close against his body. He could feel her sobs shaking her small frame vigorously. He held her and comfortingly stroked her back, letting out silent tears to be strong for her. They lay together that way until it was time for Gaga to eat, although she didn’t have much of an appetite. Tomorrow they’d both be interrogated though, and she needed some strength for that.
---
“Taylor wouldn’t do this to me!” Gaga nearly screamed at the young police officers in her hospital room.
“Ma’am, we’re just trying to get as much information as possible. Are you absolutely sure your relationship hasn’t been strained at all?”
“Not one bit,” Gaga rubbed her face. She was exhausted and frustrated by this situation. All she wanted was to go home and forget all about being poisoned and losing the baby.
“That’ll be all for today guys, thanks for your cooperation Mrs. Kinney,” one of the officers said as calmly as possible. “We’ll investigate the security tapes of the pancake house you went to for breakfast on the morning of the incident.”
Shortly after they left, Taylor walked in smiling bitter sweetly. “How’d it go?”
“Terrible!” Gaga looked like she had been drained of any strength she had left. “They kept asking me these ridiculous questions and –”
“Shh, don’t focus on that,” Taylor said quietly, taking her hand in his. “Relax baby, they’ll find who did it soon enough, and we’ll be able to move on. Think about that, ok?”
“You always know what to say,” Gaga smiled.
“You do too,” he smiled back, “now why don’t we call your parents over?”
The rest of the day passed by much more quickly. Gaga was beginning to feel better physically, and her family came by to visit. They had tried to see her the previous day but they hadn’t had a chance to because of the hospital’s visiting policy and the police interrogations going on, and Gaga was ecstatic to finally see them. Taylor was able to keep her company throughout the day as well, and after lots of near-begging, he was even allowed to spend the night with her.
They were awoken the next morning by a nurse, there to bring them breakfast and make sure Gaga’s vital signs were okay. As they began eating their breakfast, Taylor felt his phone vibrating in his pocket.
“Who is it?” Gaga inquired.
“It’s the detective on the case!” Taylor replied as he answered the phone. “Hello?”
Gaga looked intently at Taylor’s face, trying to figure out where the conversation was headed. “Well?” She asked as Taylor hung up the phone.
“They found out who did it!” He replied excitedly. “They were watching the security footage of the pancake house and saw a young-looking woman, probably in her mid-20’s as they told me, who wasn’t identified as an actual employee, sneaking into the kitchen and messing around with the food.”
“Oh my God… Have they found her?”
Taylor sighed disappointedly. “No, but it’s still a lead. They’re broadcasting the security tapes on the news, so hopefully someone will identify her. She will not get away with what she did to you and our innocent child.” His tone became bitter, and he balled his fists in anger.
Gaga stroked her belly, where their baby girl had once grown, and a tear escaped from her eye and rolled down her face, but she didn’t bother wiping it away. Several more salty tears followed, and soon she had broken into sobs again. Taylor reached out and took both of her hands in his own, and they sat like that in silence, each one’s presence comforting the other.
