With The Bad Batch now over, the hope for many fans of color now is that future Star Wars animation will avoid any racism in writing or character design; that it will respect fans and characters of color, Jewish fans, and disabled and ND fans in its pursuit of telling a story.

Nobody deserves to see a series dedicated to whitewashed characters who are written to be genetically superior to men of color. Nobody deserves to see an antisemitic stereotype on their screen. And nobody deserves to see ableism in their shows.

If future showrunners truly believe Star Wars is for everyone, they'll do the work to root out their unconscious biases, learn about stereotyping, and create a show that reflects the diversity of the Star Wars fandom.

There should never again be any room for racism, ableism, or antisemitism in a Star Wars project.

hOW IS HIS ACTION FIGURE WORSE THAN THE ANIMATION?!

They even have a decent sculpt for Hunter’s face in the same line?? Crosshair and Wrecker are somewhat off and their paint job is too light but Tech looks terrible (I haven’t seen Echo anywhere yet). Rex and Wolffe from the Black series have really good facial sculpts that look like Temuera Morrison

Anyway I know this doesn’t fix the problem since it’s the six inch figure but Marauder Gun-Runners has individual pieces you can order, like different faces if you wanted to make some of your own basic figures. I haven’t ordered from them before but I’m pretty sure the heads fit onto ball joint necks and if you have figures from the current Vintage collection you should be able to pop them off interchangeably

there's a really good video essay on how its possible for trans clones to exist in star wars that id link but im about to hate on it so i wont do that. but the OP of the video does a REALLY good job breaking down all sorts of phobias and isms in the real world and in star wars, talking about eugenics especially, but the second she gets to the bad batch she just. stops all of that critique and takes them at face value as characters and as a narrative. which i didnt appreciate because it weakened her overall analysis. and unfortunately she did also posit that the bad batch have their own room probably because they're like bullied by the other clones or something, even though there's no basis for that in canon like at all. so the meticulous thinking she'd done up to that point flew out the window

should i find all my old bad batch redesign/rewrite threads or should i just say them again akjsdfhklsajfd anyways what if there break up of the batch was slow and what if it started with Wrecker taking omega off kamino, and then tech followed and then it was hunter and crosshair and they all have their reasons and come to their own realizations but the biggest split is between hunter and crosshair, and the reason hunter even stays is because he's still trying to be a Leader because he's been told that's what is duty is, of course. but his squad is falling apart in front of him and he cant' in good conscious stay behind with an empire that forced one of his teammates to nearly kill a child. and then he leaves too and its just crosshair. but now hunter has to like regain Wrecker and tech's trust because even if they have orders, they also have morals right? and wrecker's empathetic. he couldn't stand by and watch people get hurt in the name of duty, and he wanted to save omega. and tech thought through it logically and left bc a government that does that wouldn't be safe or them either. he can't see what the kids in the Jedi order have to do with something that would necessarily have been limited to adults, even IF the claims of a coup were true, and neither of them can convince hunter, who again is struggling to be the good Leader his squad needs. but strength as a leader also means hard choices. so crosshair ends up alone on kamino and he starts hunting down TBB both because he was told to and because he genuinely wants them all to be together again. so this is in keeping w canon but has more depth.
