so excited to hear you’re still working on the rmrb sequel? Could you maybe share a sneak peak? 👀👀👀
Uhhhhhhhhhh i don’t really have anything that’s polished enough. But maybe I could interest you in this writing exercise I did a couple of weeks ago. It’s only an exercise so it won’t be in the final version (which won’t be written in first person) but it’s a tinny tiny glimpse into the plot of the sequel:
I was met by a sight of unchecked crime and a fervent contempt towards all things morality. I knew I was in the right place.
Mayfeld I met first, at the craps table. His sleight of hand could use some work, but the technique was downright visionary. I bought him a drink and he got me a job of questionable legality. We hit it off pretty quick.
Xi’an didn’t like me, and I didn’t like her, but neither of us was looking for a book club buddy and she had no reservations about my illicitly deviant ways, while I was willing to turn a blind eye to the blood on her boots. I suppose we were friends.
Ran liked me best. He liked that I could envision what he was trying to build, because I had spent an awfully large chunk of my life building, building, building—I oughta’ve been a fucking architect—and he appreciated that I understood that the steadiest loading walls are erected upon credits and dead bodies.
