fun home is a national treasure and everyone should see it tbh. like the musical was so comforting because for me it reaffirmed that it’s fine for me to be gay. that it’s normal even, and allison’s portrayal in the musical is very relatable. from her struggles with family and identity to her very sense of self. the musical really opened my eyes to the massive difference between generations of gay people and how difficult it was for past generations and how their sacrifice as well as newer generations efforts have changed things so that i can live my life freely.
