something better comes along right at the moment i realize that you’re the one that came for me

but these tired hands, they don’t deserve better. nothing better than to dig their way just barely beneath the surface of something they could never understand.

i could never understand you i could only understand and sympathize with the many voices of all who have tried with little success to grip their fingers around something so unattainable

i should stop reaching for the heavens and accept what god has given me. this longing view next to yet another so simple in their creation

but they deserve much better.
