First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who entered our #TBSPlaylist contest! We had a crazy number of entries for the official These Broken Stars playlist, which is why it's taken Amie and I so long to listen to everyone's songs. Thanks for being so patient! We wanted to make sure that we heard all of them, and we're so glad we did, because you guys have some amazing taste in music.
We actually had so many awesome entries that we couldn't pick just one. It took us forever just to get it narrowed down to two, and at that point, we gave up! So yes, there are TWO grand prize winners:
1. calistana, with "Little Talks" by Monsters and Men. We loved the lyrics, and the fact that the song is sung by a male and female singer (the way TBS is told!). We can't go into too much more detail about why we love this one, for fear of spoiling anyone who hasn't read the book yet, but those of you who have... you'll understand when you check out the lyrics!
2. sydriansmadness, with "When We Come Alive" by Switchfoot. There's a lot of tragedy in These Broken Stars, but we never set out to write a sad story. There's a lot of joy and freedom in this song, and we love it... it feels very Lilac and Tarver to us!
And we also have a prize for a winner drawn at random, to thank everyone who reblogged and shared the playlist but didn't have a song they wanted to enter. The winner of the random drawing is light-wayy.
