Peter’s Opinion
My contribution to The Bachelor: Tony Stark Edition:
Even though he's Tony's son, he is still the most polite boi to ever walk the earth.
So everyone
Everyone
is Mr. to him.
Doesn't matter how much they insist, or how long he's known them, everyone is Mr. (with a few exceptions)
On the first day, he goes through the lineup:
"Mr. Odinson." "Please, Peter, Son of Tony, you may call me Thor!" Peter nods: "Mr. Thor."
"Mr. Qill." "You can call me Peter." "No, I'm Peter. You're Mr. Quill."
Loki is only there as a joke, but Peter comes up to them and earnestly asks what their pronouns are "because I've seen a couple myths and stories where you're a guy, and some where you're a girl, and some where you're not human at all, so I was wondering if you preferred mister or miss or if it depends on what you look like or ..." and Loki considers actually courting Stark if it means they can stick around this kid more.
Bruce is Dr. Banner, bc he worked hard for that title (and Peter is too much of a nerd to have not read most of his papers, and he has a small huge fanboy moment when he sees him there).
Greeting Bucky is pretty awkward, but this boy was raised by Pepper and Aunt May and Tony "I wanted you to be better" Stark, so he averts his eyes and calls him Sergeant Barnes and moves on.
Rhodey is Uncle Rhodey bc Peter knows that Rhodey is only there to make sure Tony finds someone good, who won't break his heart like Steve did. Quill: "Uncle Rhodey, huh, is that what Tony would call you, too?" Rhodey elbows him in the gut.
And then there's the final three:
Peter is super nervous meeting T'Challa, and keeps switching between "King T'Challa" and "Mr. Panther"
By the end, he's comfortable enough around him that he settles on King T'Challa.
Strange is Dr. Strange, bc again, he worked hard and is proud of that title.
Near the end, Strange tells Peter the "Mr. Doctor" story, and has Peter absolutely rolling on the ground because that is absolutely something he would do.
Part of the reason why Strange makes it as far as he does is because of that moment. Anyone who can make his kid laugh like that is perfect in Tony's book.
And then there's Steve.
From day one, Steve was always Steve.
"Mr. Quill, Mr. Odinson, Dr. Banner, Steve, Dr. Strange ..."
Because he remembers Steve from when he and Tony were together in the first place.
He remembers how happy Steve made Tony.
He remembers how they were almost a family.
So even though he knows what Steve did, and how hurt Tony was for a long time afterwards, he wants Steve to win, so they can be a family again.
