SeiSub Tanabata Fest 2026: Prompts and FAQ

Welcome to SeiSub Tanabata Fest! Everyone is allowed to participate. This is a ship event for CLAMP's Sakurazuka Seishirou and Sumeragi Subaru. Pick whichever version of work you feel like creating for with SeiSub (Tokyo Babylon, X/1999, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, etc.).

This fest is in celebration of the coming Tanabata (July 7th in Japan). Each day features prompts relating to traditions or imagery associated with Tanabata. Tanabata marks the halfway point (138 days) in between Seishirou’s birthday (November 22nd) and Subaru’s birthday (February 19th). This indicates their relationship as star-crossed lovers, which makes their relationship on Tanabata all the more intriguing.

What can I create?

Anything. Art, fic, meta, podfics, webcomics, moodboards, etc.

Are there minimum requirements for works?

No. Your work can be any length or amount of effort you want to put in.

Do I have to participate every day?

No. Pick whichever days you want to participate.

Can I use a work I’ve already started?

Yes, as long as it hasn't been published yet and is new for the fest.

Do I have to include all the prompts listed for the day into my work?

You can if you want, but you need to only use one prompt.

What if my work incorporates prompts from two different days?

Sure. Post a fill with prompts from two different days on either posting day.

Can I include other ideas not included in prompts for the day?

Sure. Prompts are suggestions. Use whatever will be fun for you.

What does "FREE DAY - choose your own prompt" mean on Day 3?

Choose any prompt of your choice that is not on our prompt list.

Are there content restrictions?

No. Just properly tag and rate potential triggers and themes.

Can I submit a late entry?

We accept late entries. Post whenever you can afterwards.

The SeiSub Hanami Exchange is back!

Get ready for the 2025-2026 hanami season and exchange round 8.

Do you love SeiSub? Do you want to create fanwork for the pairing? Then join us for this exchange event! This event is suitable for people of all ages and all skill levels, whether you have previously published work or not.

How this works:

Sign ups will open on November 1st and close on November 29th

You will submit three prompts for a gift you’d like to receive

After sign-ups have ended, you will be assigned someone to create a gift for. Someone will also be assigned to create a gift for you (secretly!)

Works must be mostly complete by March 15th. All works will be posted gradually over the month of April!
