All first drafts are shit. Here’s a before and after of one scene in the latest chapter of TCAFS, in case you’re interested in my writing / editing process.

Hello to all the other Writers out there!
I’ve reblogged a few posts onto this blog already, but ive added nothing of my own, so I figured it was time for an introduction!
My Aesa (Ay-suh) I’m a Sophmore in College (2018), American and i prefer she/her pronouns. If you recognize my bear, that’s because its also my mascot over at my Studyblr/Bujoblr @honey-bear-studies. My main blog is @aesa-the-nerd, and thats what i follow from. I also run a fairly popular witchcraft blog @red-moon-witch, though that probably will not connect much to this blog.
Im definetly looking for writing tips, tricks and information. I love to write but ive never been able to complete a story. Im very good at world-building, but i tend to get hung up as soon as i start actually writing. Im looking to improve my skills, and finish a story.
I currently only have one WIP, and its pretty much the only thing that i will make original posts about on this blog. Its tenitively called To Catch a Fallen Star, but i doubt that will be the final title. To Catch a Fallen Star will be an Edwardian Fantasy Epic (With some Romance!), if i have my way, and maybe I’ll get it published someday. I will follow up this post with more information about it. Everything about it will be tagged under #MyWIPs and #TCAFS.
Please feel free to ask me about my Wips or just introduce yourself! If you follow me and you are a Writeblr i will follow you back!

fan art inspired by my favorite fanfic ever, to catch a falling star. i love tcafs so much, i reread it every other year. i recently saw that @tcafs08 said that she might not continue with the story, but that’ll never stop my love for her characters. her writing is always inspiring, im so grateful that i found her story all those years ago ❤
follow for more of my art! @gracelessnights
how does this story still exist
*high pitched internal screaming*
58 pages y’all.
I’m dead. It’s 6:14am and I deserve sleep.
Forgive the long and rambling note at the end of the chapter. I think that was 2 pages of me being self-deprecating and self-loathing. You know, normal fyeri stuff.
Please leave me a review if you can!
Or buy me a coffee?

I saw @focusdumbass doing this and it looked like fun and a good way to share a bit more about my current WIP; To Catch a Fallen Star. Plus Focusdumbass said in their post I could say they tagged me, so here goes!

Current last 5 lines (9/20) : None of the Duchamps women could believe their eyes; Louis Forester had bought a ring. “Oh my lord, that’s an engagement ring, Elodie”, Grace muttered, pushing her weight up onto her toes, who tried and failed very hard at not giving away her excitement to everyone in the room. Esther, still up at the counter, began to fidget, despite all of her training in etiquette telling her not to. Elodie, for just a minute, just a second, hoped beyond a reason and hope itself that that beautiful and simple ring was for her. Louis Forester spoke two words in response to Lawrence Gildenhirsch, both of which absolutely destroyed Elodie: “Margaret Thatcher.”
I don’t have a lot of Writeblr friends yet so I'll just pull from my follow list : @theflowofink @beefragment @lexiestories
To Catch a Fallen Star: Introduction
My First Major WIP; To Catch a Fallen Star!
Progress: 5k Words
Genre: YA Fiction (Fantasy/Romance/Edwardian Period)
To Catch a Fallen Star is the Story of 19-year-old Elodie Grace Duchamps, a young woman struggling to meet the expectations of the society in which she lives, who is quite literally thrust into a new magical world. Her father sends her off to go visit extended family, but on her voyage overseas she is thrown overboard by a storm, and she falls through a portal to another world. From there she must find her way home, navigating a foreign world full of magic she does not understand and unsavory characters who are trying to prevent her from going home. Even she isn’t sure who she can trust.
This story features feats of magic, a great journey across a foreign land, romance, betrayal, hidden secrets, choices, and a story of self-realization set in a time period very loosely based on that of 1910′s America, and a fantastical world.
Characters: Elodie Grace Duchamps The Duchamps Family (and extended family) Iyan of the Black Forest Lune of the Dark City Louis Forester Margaret Thaxter Layrell of the Shining Hills Alus of the Royal Court Queen Nymeria Prince Consort Efrain
TCAFS sneak peek (and fyeri has forgotten how to write because apparently everything she writes is crap.)
“She’s right,” Fuji said, his eyes on the other half of the court. “You can tell by the way Atobe looks.”
They all swiveled their heads.
“Like a tiger,” Sakuno said quietly. “Like a tiger stalking it’s prey.”
“Tiger, huh?” Ryoma murmured, feeling a corner of his mouth twitch. “I always thought of Monkey King as a peacock.”
“Not a monkey?” Akane asked, brow raised.
“Peacock?” Momoshiro said at the same time. He snorted. “Not exactly the most threatening of creatures…”
“Hey! Peacocks are really scary!” Kimiko protested. “One time I thought it might be fun to chase a peacock around at one of those zoo aviaries.”
“And?” Suzume prompted in a bored, i-don't-care-but-i'll-indulge-you-anyway tone. “What happened?”
Kimiko gave them a sheepish grin, wincing at the memory. “The peacock ended up chasing me.”
TCAFS Ch33 Sneak Peek
Fuuma smiled serenely. “Munehiro-kun’s playing well today. You trained him well, Atobe.”
Atobe practically preened. “Well, of course. A true captain should always take an interest in fostering talent.” At this, he gave Shigohara a pointed glare. “As opposed to conducting unsavory business in the locker room after hours.”
Shigohara examined her perfect manicure disinterestedly. “What I do in my personal time is none of your concern, Atobe,” she said. “Besides, a good captain leads a team that doesn’t need any help.”
Atobe bristled.
Oshitari smiled and went back to mindlessly fiddling with Shigohara’s curls.
