5. what is your drink of choice?
because i am a vile little creature of habits, far too self actualised that i'm a parody of myself at this point, my drinks of choice are:
large black iced coffee, no sweetener
san pellegrino blood orange, high ball glass and ice
old fashioned, hold the orange peel
ftr i don't drink enough water but am trying better and can also be found on a day of two or more meetings cradling a can of red bull like a safety blanket.
13. what's something you learned recently?
that one of the baby names that's the forerunner for if i have a boy is glen approved.
i know, what a wild sentence. but glen's name is not glen; that's her online persona name. her real name is an uncommon, bafflingly spelled irish language name. and as a person who has spent every day of her life telling people how to spell and pronounce her name, she has some opinions on names and how people name children. ultimately her opinion can be summed up as "name your baby whatever you want but one day that baby is gonna have to apply for a job."
and some of the names i like, she's like "ok. i see that for your kid but also don't do that to your kid." but then on friday, we were walking around tesco, wound up in the F&F clothing section and i spotted something really sweet for a baby boy in the sale rack. and i made a comment about how i like that as a nickname cos i am thinking of going with [enter name here] if i have a boy.
and glen's face lit up. which surprised me, because i was certain she wouldn't like it. but she really likes it, and kept saying it with my surname as we continued walking - i needed milk - and it was always the forerunner, alongside another name which i equally won't say here, but now i think it might be the one.
17. do you believe in luck and superstition? Do you carry any lucky items or follow any lucky rules?
yes.
i'm irish so i think it might be illegal for me to not have some superstitions embedded into me. like saluting a single magpie to ensure the sorrow doesn't get me, never walking on someone's grave, leaving the last bite of my food for the fairies.
i also make a wish every time i see 11:11 on the clock. but never for me. i know, i know manifestation and all that. but i feel like i have a lot of good in my life, that i'm doing really well, and so i always use my 11:11 wish on someone i care about.
