Tanner O’Sullivan - Confidant

When Tanner was 16, he got into an accident and spent time at the hospital Having the place as her second home, she often hung out with patients and helped the nurses as much as she could, such as delivering food or keeping people company. Tanner was one of the people she had met and she often spent her days in his room until he got better. They would pester one another as often as they could, just to keep some entertainment in the hospital. 

Since meeting, Meredith has been his go-to person. When him and Evan broke up, she would be his shoulder to cry on. When he got hooked on drugs, she pulled him away. One night, the two decided to hook up and decided the best thing for them was to be friends. Meredith views him as an older brother and has the means to keep it that way. Since Meredith often spends time at the hospital, she is aware of Evan’s child, and how Tanner is the father. Wanting what’s best for Tanner, she keeps him in the loop and they simply depend on one another.

Poppy Hartley - Convincer

Poppy grew up in Charlotte, and was often over at Meredith’s neighbors house. Meredith was fairly close with the woman next door, seeing that the Banks’ family got along with all their neighbors. Meredith and Poppy never had a proper conversation, but she did see Poppy around from time to time. When Meredith went to visit Olivia one day about her illness, Poppy walked into the conversation. Becoming a bit close through the exchange, Poppy is trying to convince Meredith to get treatment.

Nikau Irvine - Old Friend

When Meredith was 14, she traveled with her parents to New Zealand for a medical case. Being the best neurosurgeon, Mitchell was asked to take part in operating on a tumor, which he gladly accepted. The Banks’ took a trip to the country, and that is where Meredith met Nikau Irvine. Since Mer was a relatively mature girl and her parents had a lot of trust in her, she decided to venture out into the city on her own while her parents worked. Clearly being a lost tourist, a boy approached her and that is how Nikau became a part of Meredith’s life. For the time that she spent there, he was the person she did things with and hung out with until her time was up. 

Once Meredith left, the two kept in contacts for some time, but it did not last for long. When Nikau moved to Charlotte, he reached out to Meredith and they’ve remained close since. He is one of the few people Meredith trusts, and one of the first people she told when receiving the news about her cancer. With him wanting her to get treatment, it puts a strain on their friendship because Meredith continues to put herself through that.

Keegan Haas - Rescue

The escort business is a fairly known thing in Charlotte, and each business knows one another in order to not cross paths when it comes to clients and workers. Every once in awhile, the bosses throw an event in which things get pretty sexual. It’s a way for clients to have fun, and the escorts gets a little out of the mix as well. Keegan Haas arrived with a male escort, and it did not take a rocket scientist to know how uncomfortable the other blonde was. Caring more about how clients felt than what a good time she could have, she left her date and went to get Keegan out of the event instead.

One particular client was being forceful with Meredith and she refused to cooperate with his needs. Instead, she said no and that resulted in her being assaulted. The man left Meredith for dead (somewhere) and (name) found her.

David Adkins - Medic to the Rescue

Without getting any treatment for her cancer, Meredith’s body grows weaker and weaker every day. She acts as if she’s capable to handle everything that life throws at her, but that’s not always the case. One day, Meredith was out at a cafe and passed out. Being rushed to the hospital, the closest one was the one that her parents work at -- Carolina Medical Center. Being rushed in through the ER, everyone immediately knew who she was but the one who took her case was David Adkins. 

He’s currently a resident at Carolina Medical Center. The two have exchanged a few conversations here and there due to him being on her parents’ service. When she came into the E.R and he worked her case, he tried to tell Meredith’s parents but the blonde begged him not to. Not wanting her parents to worry, she made David keep her visit a secret while he checked in on her.

Clarke Hawkins - First Lesbian Experience

Meredith is a curious person, and had never really acted on her curiosity before receiving the news about her cancer. Now that she's living life on the edge, she is much more into exploring, and that includes the opposite sex. Wandering into a bar, Meredith made the decision to have a few drinks too many and quickly got wasted. When anyone is wasted, they have the tendency to be much more comfortable and touchy with other people -- they lack the ability to be shy and Meredith had no problem putting herself out there. Upon walking into the bar, she noticed a beautiful blonde from a distance. Clarke Hawkins is the reason Meredith claims herself as bisexual.

Alex Saporta - Mix Up

Unknown to Alex, he was set up on a blind date with Meredith. No knowledge to who she was, the date carried on as if it was a regular old date. By the end of it, Meredith asked for her money and Alex was confused as to what she was talking about. The two made the realization that there had been a mistake, and Alex's friend had booked her -- not Alex. Regardless, he still paid her and a friendship bloomed from their date. They two make meeting for coffee a regular occurrence.
