"Yeah, that's one way to put it." Jake agreed with a small laugh, though, he was looking anywhere except at her. "Guess we've been collecting strays since we were kids, me and you." Her tone was so much lighter than his and he almost envied her for it. To be so oblivious to the things that seemed to drag him underwater again and again. "Really, though, are you happy with your place in this family? Or are you just passing the time?" That's all he'd been to her, right? "You think this is the one? "I promise you i'm going to get so much therapy after this" (Jake & Johnston)

"Since when do you believe in therapy, dad?" Jake asked, arms crossed. He wasn't sure if this was a joke or if there was something more to it. Either way, he was willing to at least hear him out. "You're standing here, alive, cracking jokes like you didn't leave us in pieces. That's going to need a little more than a couch session." There was a clear tease to his voice, but, it was clear it was still coming from a place of great love, and a place of great hurt. "How are you here, and what's it costing you? "Pathetic? That's a bold word from a guy sitting pretty while his entire family fight for survival around him." Jake's voice was low as he leaned forward, hands braced on the desk. "Who're we talking about here. Cause if it's going to affect Elaine, you and I got a problem." He wasn't afraid of Phineas and he wanted to make that abundantly clear in his posture. "What is all this? And don't think you can dodge me. Spill it, or we're gonna have a real conversation." @tcrturedpcetsdep

"You writing a philosophy book?" He raised a brow, crossing his arms. "Come on, don't play cute. If you've got something to say about Elaine, about us, spit it out. I'm not here for riddles." His tone was steady, but it was getting increasingly sharp as he struggled to temper his anger. "What's your angle? 'Cause I'm done letting half-truths screw with what we're building. "you're in my movie." (Billy & Tatum)

"Your movie, Tatum? Gee, I hope it's a porno and not some low-budget slasher flick." He grinned, sarcastic and biting. He didn't feel she was any real threat to him, after all, he'd wiped her out once before, what was an encore? "So, what's my role? The big bad? I hope there's a plot twist, it sounds predictable already. Straight to VHS if you ask me." He snickered. @tcrturedpcetsdep

Jake leaned against the hood of his car, and old Plymouth Road Runner he'd spent longer hunting down than he cared to admit. "Parker." Jake said, eyes locking onto him, voice loud enough to catch his attention, but not shouting. "Figured it was time we had a face-to-face. No games, no bullshit. Just you and me, setting things straight." he paused, waiting for any kind of reaction. "I need to know where you stand. Are you someone I should be worried about?"

Billy was sat slouched on a bench just outside the hospital's main entrance, the cool London air biting as his bruised skin. It was impossible to relax with the staff keeping a close eye on him and so he'd resorted to judging everyone that walked past as a way to pass his allotted time outside. However, as one in particular walked past, he couldn't help but get involved. "Tatum? No fucking way." His lips twitched into a tight smirk. "You look…good. Been a while, huh? When was the last time we saw each other again?" He was fishing, of course. Who knows who'd gotten to her first and what tale they'd spun about him.

brigitte was pretty sure that she hadn't advanced past the decoration style that she had when she ended up out on her own. something about trauma and safety, she was pretty sure that was what any therapist would tell her. "so, is it totally bogus if i have a beaded curtain in my apartment or is that finally coming back into style? i mean they're pretty cool either way, right? it's not just me?"
