I really enjoy your analysis and takes on how the ghoul boys act with one another :) What you said about the Loey Lane ep showing how they usually are together, and how their little bubble might annoy people around them, made me think of that video (insta story?) where Shane is chased Ryan while holding the camera, until TJ yelled at them for “playing near the street”. I was wondering if you ever made a post about that?
I’m glad you do, Nonnie, I absolutely love doing them and sharing it with you, makes my experience in this fandom funnier and just, better.
Now, I didn’t have a post about this particular clip from season 2 of True Crime, so we are taking the chance to talk about it *eyes emoji*. Watch it here.
First of all, I love the fact that they have always been a couple of little shits. This is from the show hadn’t gotten it’s big boom in 2017. They filmed this around march when they were in new Orleans, this day they were filming for the Axeman episode.
In his instagram caption, Ryan says it himself, “we are still idiots” which reminds me of their silly bits in the first two seasons and just how quickly Shane became part of Unsolved back in his first appearance when the show wasn’t even divided between Supernatural and True Crime.
Because they have been friends since before they got famous and before Unsolved, you can see how much they enjoy each other’s company in those first videos. But this clip, that marks around a year or almost a year since they started to do Unsolved, you can see they are just……….. so playfull with each other.
We’ve seen this become common for them, we see their idiotic acts on instagram and twitter banter, the way they behave in other videos where they guest and just those strange Monday mornings when filming the Post Mortems. You can tell they click together easily, they have similar humor and like the same niche shit we sometimes wonder who introduced who to it.
Ryan’s face when he realizes Shane is filming it, it’s so cute (he looks so young, I’m sobbing):
It’s funny because the camera is hella close to his face, which means Shane had it around his chest level, just following Ryan in the street like a creep. Now please… imagine that 6′4″ gentle gian runing to get this shorter buff man, probably looking like a damn cartoon as they run on the street where everyone can see them.
No wonder TJ is just… so damn done… with these children he is stuck with…
The crew must know their bullshit by now, but back then it was probably something that kept amazing them like, “why, why are they like THIS?” and I’m sure it must be all kinds of things. Funny and annoying as hell, but also kinda endearing, to see these two grown ass men running to get the other, pissing the other off just to get a reaction, railing each other up until one is laughing and the other immediatelly starts to laugh too.
They genuinely are that kind of friends and it’s beautiful!
