a/n; I AM SO SORRY FOR TURNING YOUR REQUEST INTO SOMETHING ANGSTY I HAD NO OTHER IDEAS.
how many times would you have to come across him before it didn't hurt to lock eyes somehow by accident?
the frustration continued to build up inside of you everytime you came home and locked yourself away from your bedroom to think about the time you saw him again during the days you felt like the campus of your college was just shrinking or fate was trying to tell you something you weren't ready to hear.
the constant reminder of the memories because he was the walking memory, it seemed like your heart wasn't ready to accept the fact jeon wonwoo was no longer a part of your life.
“which lectures do you have today?” jihoon asked as you guys walked to the cafe by the campus to buy yourselves and the rest of the gang their coffee’s for the morning.
“i have my computing lecture first,” you inform him, showing the schedule set as your phone's lock screen.
“will you be okay?” he stopped to look at you making you stop abruptly. you knew he was referring to the fact wonwoo was in the same lecture as you for this course.
“it’s been weeks, jihoon. i have to get over him someday.” you put on a smile as best as you can and continue walking towards the cafe as it was finally in sight leaving the boy behind you ever so slightly.
“i know you can y/n, just tell me when or if you ever need to talk okay?” he smiles, it comforts you slightly hearing someone finally voice out those words rather than the pitiful looks you had been receiving from nearly everyone around you.
you nod in response and the two of you finally entered the cafe for the much necessary daily dose of caffeine.
the thought of not attending the lecture crossed your mind many times as you made your way to the hall specified on your schedule. but it was either this or risking your grade for the semester and you were done letting your bad mindset get in the way of your education.
even if it meant having to see wonwoo daily.
walking into the lecture itself felt like one of your biggest regrets as you looked around to see everyone seated with their friends and partners while you walked past them all to the corner at the back that was miraculously empty when usually it’d be occupied by someone. such as wonwoo. you don't know what made you want to sit there this time but you did so anyways, perhaps you wanted to spite him for breaking your heart. or at least taking part in doing so.
the boy comes in just as you sit down, he knew you never liked excluding yourself from your classmates and he almost laughed remembering the times you would nag at him to sit closer to the front with you.
wonwoo locked eyes with you once he made his way up the stairs of the seating area searching your eyes for any sign that you would talk to him but instead you pulled out your phone to text jihoon. you didn't want to be at your lecture and it was already enough for a day. he sighed looking away from you now and taking the seats a few rows below you. letting out the breath you hadn't realised you were holding you locked your phone to begin paying attention to your professor.
even if your lecture was filled with crazy occurrences sometimes you never expected to experience one, especially not when wonwoo suddenly passed you a note and without looking back again he continued to take his notes like nothing happened. you couldn't understand why your stomach was refusing to settle as you looked at the piece of paper consisting of who knows what.
‘let's talk after this lecture? usual place.’
you scoffed at the letter, did you want to talk to the boy who was the one to blame for your broken heart?
maybe you did.
maybe that's why you found yourself walking painfully slow to the fountain where all the benches were laid out around it. also known as the usual place as you and wonwoo would always meet there after your lectures even if you were together for most of them.
“you came.” wonwoo’s dark orbs met your widened one. you didn't expect to see him so suddenly, hoping for some time to compose yourself or maybe even run away.
“i guess i was curious.” you mumble sitting on the bench as the taller looks down at you, hesitant on whether he should join while you look over to the fountain's running water.
“ah… i see.” he nods, stuffing his hands into his pockets an undying habit of his when he was nervous, he always said he didn't want his hands to shake.
you breathe in unsure of whether to break the silence, you do so anyways.
“what do you want, wonwoo?”
“to talk, y/n.” he replies fast.
“about what?” you turn to look at him now, his eyes soften as they meet yours and you feel like you want to run away and cry just at the sigh of them.
“i miss you…”
“i miss you y/n”
“wonwoo, please don't make this any harder. you’re drunk.” you speak over the phone to the boy who had decided to drunk dial you when the clock barely read midnight.
“i'm drunk, yeah. but i miss you so bad.” he begs over the phone and you close your eyes. you hated the way he slurred his words.
“im sorry wonwoo, tell someone there to help you get home safe okay?” you whispered, tears rolling down your cheeks.
“can i come see you?” he asks, voice getting quieter.
“please don't…”
with that you hang up the phone, heart heavy.
your eyes widen as you look at him.
“why do you always do this?” you dont break away the eye contact as you question wonwoo, “why do you always tell me you miss me and proceed to do nothing about it?” you exclaim standing up so you’re directly face to face with him now.
“do you really want me to do something about it?” he asks, stepping closer to you.
“maybe i did before, wonwoo but now i'm just scared you’re going to hurt me again…” you whisper looking down to your feet.
“i never meant to in the first place.”
“but you still did when you decided you wanted to move on with someone new.” your voice cracked as you spoke but you still tried your best to hide your tears, turning away from wonwoo.
“i’ll see you in class.”
you didn't want to admit to anyone that you spent yet another week crying to jihoon and skipping all the lectures that had wonwoo in them once again. because locking eyes with him still hurts.

ღ genre: established relationship au, fluff and like awkward phases in dating ahaha
ღ plot: you and mingyu go back in time and think about what happened on your first date on your fifth anniversary, in which you remember how you’ve both grown into the people you were today.
ღ a/n: for precious bean mina, @svtegg, i know we haven’t talked in a while but i hope that you’ve been well ehehe i think the day i asked you about mingyu was like little spoiler for this but its okay! i hope we can catch up soon and sending lots of love to you!!! for anyone that wants the song, it is linked here!
“What do you mean, you have something planned?”
You looked at the person in question with a confused expression and he gives you his familiar wide grin, when he suddenly gives you a book that was somehow carefully hidden behind his back. Taking it into your hands, you were still facing him on the couch that you were both sitting on, exchanging gifts for your anniversary when you looked to see that it was a photo album in particular.
One that you remember seeing multiple times sneakily, only to have him only flick your forehead every time you got a peek of it.
“Happy anniversary, Y/N.” He grins, and by the time that you open up to the first page of the many, the polaroid that was from your first date immediately brought a smile to your face, remembering all the catastrophe that went on during it.
You remember how extremely nervous you were because it was another endless blind date that your friend was setting you up with, no idea on who the other person was. The only name that they had given you was Mingyu, and you felt as though you had heard this name before in your life.
However, your assumptions were almost immediately correct by the time that you saw the tall attractive man walk over to you, asking if your name matched with the one that fell off his lips. Your throat running dry at the time failed you, which made you result to a small nod as you recognized him from all the lecture halls in your psychology class that you were pretty sure you barely passed because of him.
“Y/L Y/N... Say, we didn’t happen to have psych 1100 together, did we, in our sophomore year?” He asks you and your cheeks heat up once you realized that he recognized you from then, and you were only flustered from there on out.
“I knew I recognized you from somewhere.” You smile, leaning back into your seat as he takes his across from you, wondering how fate planned the timing to meet the mesmerizing person that distracted his mind all throughout college.
You had to admit, the entire blind date was awkward as neither of you said anything, too flustered because of the other person to let out a single word or complement at all. It wasn’t until you both leave the restaurant and head towards the Han River that someone comes up to you both to take a picture by the river that you kept the polaroid of it.
And even though it was awkward, somehow that photo being taken in the moment was also the ice breaker where you became warmer with the other’s presence.
The start of where you were now.
Looking up from where you were still holding the phonebook in your hands, you were already finished flipping through the endless photos of memories you created together over the years, every one better than the last in a way. Tears were already pricking at the corners of your eyes, but it was the words that were written at the bottom of the last page that you almost missed when you read them once again before looking up at Mingyu.
Will you marry me and start a new adventure full of memories?
He now is kneeling in front of you, a ring that he must’ve hidden well after all this time in his fingers as you felt your breath taken away at the sight of it. But you knew that it was him all along, and there was never a moment in your life where you didn’t think otherwise.

Lemme know your thoughts!!**
Wonwoo knows that he should be coping with a heartache right now.
Its been hours since he caught his significant other cheating on him in their own bed at the shared apartment, finding their lips on someone else that wasn’t him. He wasn’t phased at the scene cause he thought that they were cheating on him weeks prior to tonight because of all the signs that had been going off inside of his head.
He had only stayed because he thought that maybe he could find a way out of that, just so they could stay a little longer more. However, he couldn’t care less because that love that sparked within them back then died long ago, and he was ready to go back into the lonely shadows he once engulfed himself in long ago.
Along with that, he also had been having trouble in finding inspiration in the works of writing, writers block being the only thing that has bothered him to the point where it felt draining to look for inspiration endlessly at the dawn of each day.
He wanted a break from his daily routine, which was why he managed to find himself at a tacky diner that looked as though it came from the 50s.
He sits at the front counter on one of the stools, sipping on the vanilla milkshake that has watered down hours prior as he thought about the next step that was supposed to be a part of his life. It wasn’t until the sound of a bell being made that brings him back to reality when someone suddenly stands in front of him with a batch of cookies in their hands.
“Care for some cookies to dip into your milk?” You say, giving him a small smile and he gives you a confused, but also weirded look before tilting his head slightly at the thought of you giving cookies at a diner.
“I didn’t order any..”
“They’re on the house, Wonwoo.” You say, putting the plate down in front of him and crossing your arms in front of your chest as he was now getting spooked out as to how you knew his name.
“Your name is literally sketched right onto your notebook here.” You reply, answering his secret thoughts as you tapped softly on the leather covered notebook that was resting on top of his counter as he hums before taking a cookie that was on the plate.
Chocolate chip.
“Made them myself, if I can say so myself. Saw that you needed a pick me up, or some sort of distraction, so I came out of the kitchen to whip up a specialty of mine.” You smiled and leaned against the counter before hopping on top of it, looking at him in curiosity as to why the man was still here at 3 o’clock at night when he seemed to be someone that deserved to sleep with someone special at this hour.
“Do I really look that miserable?” He asks quietly, a small whisper almost inaudibly escaping his lips as he looks at you with a frown on his face, one that you recognized a lot when your diner attracted only the heartbroken people to find comfort so that you can complete your task of healing those that needed it here on earth.
Your goal of 10,000 people so that you can finally rest.
“You just look like you need someone to die for. I’m Y/N, by the way, and I think I can find a way to cure your sadness for tonight. Want to go for a walk?”
ღ genre: some suggestive sexual content is mentioned along with some mature language that is used. there is some angst that comes to this, but there’s fluff if you squint in between the lines lolol.
ღ wc: 4015
ღ plot: you never thought that you would see the day where your best friend, whom you were pretty exclusive with, was spontaneous enough to want to go on a road trip. it was something you thought of being harmless, if it weren’t for the fact that he was giving you all the mixed signs that maybe he wants more, or maybe he wants to stop your exclusiveness and just keep it in the dark nights.
MASTERLIST
The summer heat made your night intolerable as your pajamas were firmly sticking to your clothes, even with your window and fan on full power in your bedroom. It was no match for the amount of sweat that you could feel all in one moment, and you felt even worse considering the fact that you were up at the ungodly hours that were nearing four in the morning.
It had been months since you were stuck in California with your best friend, the both of you staying in one of his friends’ houses that held guest rooms for the other guests that you were familiar with. The only reason why you were stuck there was because of the pandemic that was occurring worldwide, in which flying back to Korea wasn’t a viable option at the moment in terms of your health.
Which was why you stared up at your ceiling blankly, hoping that maybe you would fall back asleep this time around rather than letting the heat ruin your sleep schedule; but there was no use.
A knock on your door interrupts you from your thoughts as you hummed for whoever was at your door to come inside, and when you turned your head over towards the person that was still up. Wonwoo stands at your door frame, with his arms crossed over his chest and leans against it slightly as he stares at you with an amused look on his face, as if though he was trying to say that he wasn’t surprised at the fact that you were still up.
“A penny for your thoughts, princess?” He muses, and you shrugged in response, turning your head back up to the ceiling as you let out a soft sigh, wondering why his presence suddenly made you feel even more warmer than you were before.
Why was the air conditioning not on tonight?
“It’s too hot tonight.” You mumbled quietly and you heard him hum in response as his feet shuffled against the bedroom floor after shutting the door, moving to the empty spot next to you as he lied down and stared up at the ceiling as well with his hands across his stomach.
“Is it because I’m here tonight?” He jokes and turns to look at you and you playfully scoffed at his words, lightly pushing him away from you as you shook your head in response and shifted your body so that you were now facing out the window, seeing that the moon was still up high in the sky but the stars were starting to dull as the minutes have gone by.
“There’s nothing left to do here, so I am bored out of my mind, Woo.” You replied and looked to see that he wasn’t looking at you anymore, but rather the sky as well that was right outside your window.
The glimpse of his side profile made you think about all of the moments that you spent with him like this, but rather apart, you were entangled into one another’s limbs as he held you close to his body. Both you and Wonwoo had been best friends since the beginning of your freshman year because of Joshua, the owner of the house you were staying in during this time of quarantine, but there was something more that was going on between you both that you were avoiding to admit yourself.
There were definitely more than one occurrences where you both spent nights in each other’s beds, seeming as though you were more than best friends, but there wasn’t any label. You knew that Wonwoo wasn’t someone that wanted to be tied down in a relationship with just anyone, and you, yourself, was someone that still wanted to explore and didn’t want to be committed into a relationship with an individual that you would only be seen as temporary.
Somehow, you managed to view Wonwoo that same way.
You knew that sooner or later, you both wouldn’t fool around much longer where you both wouldn’t end up in each other’s beds much longer. Someday, you knew that he would find someone and slowly fall in love with them for everything that they were, and he was going to be in love with every single fiber of himself. It was something that you were scared to do, because that would mean you would have to put yourself in such a vulnerable position and be willing to risk everything your heart was against in believing.
“What if we both left the house for a bit?” He suddenly asks, and you look at him confusedly while moving your hand so that it was perched up on the bed while supporting the weight of your head as you were wondering what could’ve been going through his mind at the moment.
“Where would we even go at this hour?” You ask him quietly, and it wasn’t until you hear the sound of keys jingling in his pocket that he takes out for you to see and your eyes widened in surprise at the fact that he was being spontaneous for once.
“How would you like to go on a road trip to San Diego right now? We don’t pack our bags and just go wherever the sun takes us.” He proposes and a grin starts to cross your face as you nodded in response, silently agreeing to the idea that he brought up and started to sit up in your place on the bed.
“What’s the worst thing that can happen? The others won’t even notice that we’re gone.”
That’s what you wanted to believe, but who knows what could happen during the day that you were spending in San Diego.
“Y/N, wake up.”
You were shaken awake by your shoulder and looked at your surroundings to see that you were still cramped up in the passenger seat of Mingyu’s Jeep that you and Wonwoo took for your trip. Turning around to look at the latter in the driver’s seat, he points towards the scenery that was in front of you both and you looked to see that it was the sunrise that was beginning to come up on the horizons as you realized where you were.
How long were you knocked out since you both left the house?
“It’s only 5:07,” You whispered quietly as you hugged your knees to your chest, admiring how the hues of warm colors were slowly entering the once dark sky that was only filled with stars, “How fast were you driving on the freeway?”
He lets out a laugh at your joke, shaking his head while looking back out to the waves that were just a couple feet away from you and thought to himself. From what he was thinking about the entire trip, he was scared of how fast he was falling for you, despite the fact that you two were in an exclusive relationship with one another.
No label, but he knew that you were his and vice versa.
The only thing was that he didn’t want to commit to it, because he believed multiple times that he wasn’t enough for you; that there was a guy out there that you were destined to meet, greater than he would ever be. All he could think about now was that whatever you were both doing, it was bound to have an end to it, and he didn’t want that to happen any time soon.
He liked being around you, and it was your company that made him feel more calm at most times, especially when he’s not with his ‘brothers’. To him, you were like a deep breath that he takes after he gets heated before calming down with a drive to an unknown destination. Now that you were both still in quarantine, the thought of driving was what brought up the spontaneous trip you were both now on as he wanted to shake away his thoughts from earlier.
“It’s relaxing being out here. No wonder Joshua never told us about this place, until now.” He breathes out softly, inhaling the scent of the salty sea water that was lingering in the air while thinking about what the others were talking to him about.
It was Joshua that confronted him about his exclusive relationship with you, being the only one who knows that you both were messing around, not wanting to commit to anything. To him, he didn’t think anything of it, however, to Joshua it seemed as though it was self destructive, from what he recalls him saying.
“Yeah, what a jerk.” You joked and let out a soft laugh before slowly getting out of the Jeep to go ahead and dig your feet into the sand that was on the beach.
The grains of sand were cool in between your toes, the chills of the ocean breeze making you feel as though everything was warm in your surroundings as you moved to go sit near the tides. Sounds of the waves crashing against the shore were the only sounds that you could hear besides your breathing, as you continued to watch the sun for however much longer you stayed out there with your thoughts lingering.
It wasn’t until you felt water being splashed onto your body that your head whipped over to see Wonwoo, who was standing a couple feet away from you with his feet already in the water. He kicked the water towards your distracted self, you concluded, as the shit eating grin on his face was the answer that you needed to know that he definitely was trying to get at your nerves.
“You looked soaked, Princess,” He winks at you, crossing his arms in front of his chest cockily as he stares at your now semi-irritated figure, in which you thought to yourself that you were definitely going to get your payback for, “Need a little help there?”
“I’ll show you who needs a little bit of fucking help.” You mumbled softly and immediately sat up from where you were sitting on the sand to chase after his running figure, despite the fact that you were both the loudest individuals that were there on the beach.
Your entire morning spent watching the sunrise and playing in the water, which you both ended up being completely soaked head to toe by the time that you called it a truce and went inside the beach house. However, it was something that must’ve been in the air that morning that made you and Wonwoo decide to just go for it by the time that you both walked through the front doors, catching your breaths.
At least you weren’t the one that was cleaning up the aftermath of what happens at the beach house.
“So what are we having for brunch?”
You scanned throughout the menu in your hands as you looked at the various breakfast choices that they had. Almost your entire body was aching, but that didn’t stop you from going out to eat when your stomach growled after the third round and going to physically get up to grab some food. The both of you stumbled upon a diner that was just minutes away from the beach house, which was convenient considering that you didn’t have to go anywhere else until the evening when it was time to possibly eat some dinner.
“I’m down for a burger and fries, maybe a root beer with it sounds good too.” You mumbled to yourself as you then put your menu down to look at him.
Before you both got there, you went to a store to buy some new clothes so that you were able to change into them despite the fact that you were only staying in San Diego for one night. It was only eleven in the morning, but it already felt like you had been there forever considering the fact that you were with Wonwoo.
Speaking of the latter, he sat in front of you with his glasses perked up on the bridge of his nose as he was dressed in comfortable shorts and an oversized tee that you were bound to steal from him when you get home. It was simple as he sported it with a white cap on his head, but it suited him as you looked to see that he was done picking out what he wanted to get.
“Can I take your order?”
The perky sound of the waitress bringing you out of your thoughts when you looked up to see her dressed as though you were at a Hooters, top barely buttoned up with a bright red lipstick plastered messily across her lips. All you could think about was the fact that she honestly could’ve been hooking up with someone prior to getting to your table, but when you glanced at Wonwoo, he was already smirking at the sight of her as they were both exchanging looks to one another.
“Can I have two burgers, some fries and a root beer please? Also a new server that hasn’t hooked up with anyone minutes ago?” You grinned sarcastically at her, and when she turns to you with a hurt expression on her face, she scoffs and walks away purposely showing off the way that she walked in Wonwoo’s direction and he looks up at you in confusion.
“What was that for?” He frowns and crosses his arms in front of his chest as you scoffed at his manner before pulling out your phone to see that the others were already asking you where you both were.
“For being a horny college boy.” You replied while you scrunched up your nose in disgust when he gave you a look, knowing that you used that familiar phrase with him one too many times in the past.
To be exact, you used that phrase with him the night that you both started messing around, just moments before because you were both in the middle of playing truth or dare with a pile of poker cards. It was when you won that you suggested it to him, and now here you were in a diner with him in San Diego, nothing but two best friends going out to have fun.
He lets out a huff as you were both now greeted with another waitress, one being more professional as she politely took your orders and apologized for her coworker. Once she was gone, you looked to see that Wonwoo looked annoyed as he was looking at his phone while scrolling on it as you sighed to yourself.
Was he getting bored of me?, you thought to yourself as you continued to text Joshua on your phone, when suddenly he breaks the silence by clearing his throat.
“Are you texting Joshua?” He asks you quietly, and you nodded as some sort of irritation left his lips when you decided to put away your phone and look at him with an amused look while sipping on your root beer.
“Is there something wrong with that, Jeon?” You quirked and he shakes his head in response, looking outside at the view considering you were at a window booth when he suddenly speaks up from his spot.
“No, of course not, Princess. I mean, you’re allowed to talk to Joshua, just like I’m allowed to talk to the senior who graduated our Anthropology class.” He mumbles shrugging while taking a sip of his cola, when you give him a confused look while leaning on your elbows to now questionably look at him.
“Since when did you start talking to Yuna?” You asked him quietly and suddenly smiled at the sudden mention of her name, making your stomach churn at the sight of it because you never saw him smile when yours was mentioned, like how you would always smile a bit when he was with the others.
“We both found some common interests since our project from the fall semester, and we’ve been talking since then.” He replies as you nodded in response and thought about it, wondering if he liked her despite the fact that you two were messing around together.
But then again, you were only best friends with benefits that meant nothing more than it already was.
“Do you like her?” You say in a quiet voice and watch as he thinks of response, a smile coating his lips still as you could only think that maybe he was getting bored of what you both were doing and was ready to finally settle into a relationship, since you were both going to graduate next year.
“I think I do, but I don't know. Maybe I’ll figure it out when we go home.” He whispers and you nod as somehow the sound of your heart breaking little by little was able to be heard while the food was finally being brought out onto the plates in front of you.
And for the first time in a while, you didn’t feel as hungry when you were eating with him.
It was quiet as you were sitting on the balcony of the bedroom, staring off into the distance where the night sky was reflecting off of the quiet ocean waves on the beach. There was still adrenaline running through the course of your veins from when you and Wonwoo were spending another night messing around with one another like you were used to, but somehow tonight felt different.
You shouldn’t be crying over the fact that Wonwoo was openly flirting with someone that you both met at a diner, or talked highly of the senior that was in your Anthropology lecture. There shouldn’t be a reason that you were alone in the darkness of the night, crying over someone that you never specifically labeled as your significant other, despite the fact that you both have kissed and shared touches with one another multiple times, just like moments ago.
There was a little voice in your head, saying that he should know and that you should just accept whatever he had to say in terms of rejecting the idea of you both having a label on your exclusive relationship and completely leaving you out of his simple, but unsatisfying life. Wonwoo was the one person in your life that you believed was a sign, that maybe it is possible to fall for someone completely and have that be okay because they were there for a reason.
However, he was also the same person that started the deal of being friends with benefits with you, but nothing more than that. He didn’t want to be tied down, and you respected that completely except this time it felt harder than most times that you spent nights with him because you broke your end of the promise.
You were completely in love with Wonwoo, and you didn’t know how to tell him.
The sound of the balcony door opening from behind you makes you quickly wipe your eyes with the back of your hand as you turn around and look up to see a very tired Wonwoo, glasses adorning his face and only wearing his shorts from earlier. He shuffles a bit to take a spot beside you and you tensed up a bit, feeling his warm presence beside you when suddenly you felt your head being gently moved so that it was leaning on top of his shoulder.
Neither of you said anything as you didn’t move your head, but started to relax a bit as you continued to stare out at the ocean, staring at it while you wrapped his jacket closer around your body for warmth.
“Why are you crying, Princess? Did I hurt you earlier?” He whispers quietly and turns to look at you, taking your hand into his as you shook your head in response before
“You didn’t, Woo, you never do…” You trailed off, frowning while looking down at your lap when you started to ramble on with whatever your mind was. I think we should stop with whatever we’re doing, Jeon. It’s not healthy for any of us, and you’re probably getting tired of it too and it’s getting really repetitive and-”
“Woah, woah, what are you talking about, Y/N? Where is all of this coming from?” He looks at you confusedly, gently moving to cup your face into his hands to make eye contact with you and almost instantly, you could feel yourself melt into putty because you didn’t expect him to be bold like this, but it wasn’t until you felt tears prick the corner of your eyes that you knew this was it.
“I love you, Jeon Wonwoo, more than I should be loving you.”
He didn't move as his shocked expression seemed as though it was everything that you needed to know, resorting to you getting up from where you were on the balcony to head back inside the bedroom. You closed the doors behind you as you looked around the room to grab your phone and stuff, when suddenly you were stopped by his hand gently holding your wrist.
“Where are you going, Y/N? I didn’t even say anything.” He asks confusedly, unsure as to why you suddenly ran away from him and moved his hand up to wipe the tears that were once again cascading down your face when you stopped him from doing so by moving his hand away.
“But everything that I needed to know was shown on your face, Wonwoo. I know that we both agreed that whatever we were going to be was nothing but a good fuck, but I can’t do it anymore.” You whispered quietly, scared that you were going to full on sob in front of him if you spoke any louder and looked at him, who was looking back at you with a pained face.
“How do you know that I don’t feel the same way?” He whispers, and you could’ve sworn that his face was now closer to yours than it was earlier as you could feel his breath hovering over your lips, just centimeters away when you let out an inaudible whisper in response to his.
“You can’t.”
In a blink of an eye, his lips were already on yours as this time around it felt different as you were both kissing. This one felt more promising of a sort, as if he’s trying to reassure you that he wasn’t going anywhere, but you didn’t want to believe it which was why you pulled back from him and his breathless figure.
You look at him with a confused expression, unsure as to what he was trying to prove
“I fell in love with you a long time ago, Y/N. Now was just an open window for me to tell you that,” He breathes out softly, holding your face still in his hands as he was softly caressing your cheeks while you were staring straight into his eyes looking for some sort of lie in them.
But you couldn’t find any, because the dark orbs that you were staring at were the same ones that you somehow came to love over time.
“Let’s just try again, but this time with a label. We can just keep the label to ourselves, for good rather than just leaving it in the air.”
“What about the girl at the diner, or your senior that’s in your anthropology lecture? I thought they were more your type.” You mumbled, moving your arms to hug yourself as you continued to look at him and he shakes his head in response while hugging you closer to his chest.
“I don’t think they’ll ever compare to the best thing that’s ever happened in front of me. So what do you say, Y/N? Wanna try again?” He says and looks at you softly, seeing how your eyes were filled with the stars that reflected the ones outside in the night sky as you nodded in response, giving him a small smile.

FALLIN FOR YOU MASTERLIST
Being one of the most terrifying rulers of the underworld was getting boring to you, seeing as though that the idea of everyone being in a state of fear because of your tyranny wasn’t the same anymore. You’ve spent over a century figuring that out, watching as you gave millions of souls every day different death sentences because of the sins that brought them to you in the underworld, including the nasty ones that you had to throw into your lagoon of lost souls.
You were bored.
Picking at your fingers and messed up skin from the amount of times that you were burnt from the times that you had to torture some of the souls with your firey powers, you wondered how much longer you had to stay down here. The reason for why you ended up here in the first place was a distant memory that you couldn’t remember for a while, up until you no longer cared to go back to the human world.
The sound of someone yelling breaks you out of your thoughts as there was someone new being brought in to be presented to you, the sounds of their anger and pain resonating throughout the room that made you curious.
Who was this person that was so filled with fury and rage this time around?
It wasn’t until the sounds of shackles being tossed onto the ground and a person’s grunts after getting their breath knocked out of their system that made you pause for a moment, recognizing who the person was almost instantly. Your heart was pounding in your chest loudly as you looked into the eyes that you were once familiarly in love with at one point, making your stomach churn at the sight of him after so long.
Here in the underworld stood the same individual that was deemed as the richest CEO that got everything because of his successful father up in the human world, the person that you once found solstice in because of his warm nature that you fell for.
“Kim Mingyu.”
His name easily rolled off the tip of your tongue as you stared into his lifeless form, unknowing that he became a demon moments ago when he woke up just right beside the lagoon of lost souls. The both of you were having a wordless match to see who would speak up until you did with your arms in front of you, your stare never faltering as you stood in front of your throne and looked at him.
“How did you find me down here? You shouldn’t be here, Mingyu.” You asked him, not understanding how the human’s soul was able to find you, the ruler of demons in the underworld when he should’ve been in heaven since it has been over a century since you last saw him, you think.
“I didn’t ask to be here this late, sweetheart.” He retorts while giving you a cold glare, making you think about what had happened the last time that you last saw him as you realized that he was right considering if he was already dead, then why did he not get here the same time that you have arrived?
But was he dead?
“Are you dead?” You mumbled while furrowing your eyebrows at the latter and watched as he turned around to show you the bullet hole in his chest, the memory of your last encounter with him as you were now remembering your past life as a human.
“It was your fault that I ended up here in the first place.”
You weren’t supposed to be here.
It was the late hours of 3 in the morning as you had snuck into the building of your boyfriend’s company, looking for the thing that you needed most at the moment because of the time that you were wasting. Papers are being rustled with and you were becoming more and more stressed as you couldn’t find the exact files that you needed in order to prove your parents’ innocence and to clear your own name.
Coincidence was what you wanted to call it as you were standing in the middle of Mingyu’s office in distress, knowing that you weren’t supposed to fall in love with him because of your morals. It was his family that ruined yours, making you have to scrape the bottom of the economy when all this time, they could have the answers to just clear everything, but you couldn’t find the evidence of it.
Where the hell was it-
“Y/N, what are you doing?” You hear someone say from behind you as you look at the individual in the eye with tears pricking your own eyes, seeing it was Mingyu, who at the time came back to his office in order to pick up extra work for the weekend.
You froze in your spot knowing that you were caught red-handed, seeing as though things were still out of place as there was nothing that could save you right now. There were sounds of police sirens wailing in the background from maybe miles away, and you knew that it must’ve been him that called him because he could’ve known about your plan the entire time. Did he?
“How the hell did you even get in?” He asked in confusion, making you want to stay quiet as you couldn’t bear to tell him that you broke into his office, only to look for the files that you had been looking for all these months in order to save your family from more debt.
“It was left unlocked.” You gulped, not wanting to explain yourself and you could tell that he wasn’t buying your act while he continued to step forward closer to where you were standing as he looked at you with a stern look.
“Were you looking for this?” He suddenly says while holding up a thumbdrive that you easily recognized, making you heat up in embarrassment and you knew that you were done for.
Of course he would have it.
“Mingyu-”
“Did you even love me?” He rasps out in disbelief and puts the item away in his pocket on his shirt as you could see the red rims around his eyes from how hard he was trying to not break down in front of you in the moment, and you were speechless.
“Of course I loved you.” You whispered back, your voice nearly cracking at the tears that were starting to to trickle down your face until you pulled out the metallic item that you had been hiding in your pocket in case it had led to this and pointed it against his shirt pocket, “Which is why I need you to give me the flashdrive, Gyu.”
He doesn't say anything as you continue to hold the gun to his shirt pocket and it was like a stare off as the police sirens continued to grow closer to where you stood in the office. It wasn’t until you pulled him close that you left one last kiss against his lips, one that you decided to give your everything into as you felt him kiss you back and pulled the trigger that was in your hands.
Time freezes as you watch the life leave his own eyes by the time that you pull away, your eyes glossed with tears as you watch the crimson red bleed from where his heart was located. There were no other words exchanged between you both, as you knew that he was already dying and you had to leave before you could get caught by those that were getting closer.
“It’s for the best, Kim Mingyu.” You whisper quietly, letting his body fall limp against his office chair as you made sure to have gotten rid of all traces of what you left behind.
And that ended up being your last moments before you were suddenly sent to the underworld after jumping out of the window from where you last stood.
Blinking back to reality, you wiped the tear that was slipping down your face away as you finally remembered that you were the one that sent the bullet to the back of his head, killing him before you vanished to rule the underworld once more for a century. You remember how his last words of finding you again to wreak havoc on you haunted you to this day, and you remembered everything the longer that you were looking at the demon in front of you.
You realized then in the moment as well that if he had just arrived in this time period, then where was he for a century?
There was no other words as you continued to stare a Mingyu, who was looking at you with the coldest look that could’ve killed you if it could, and thought about how he could’ve became a demon, unless there was a different circumstance that he could’ve chosen when he was on his way to heaven.
“Did you drink a demon’s blood?” You murmured with widened eyes when you finally came to the conclusion as to how he could’ve transformed, meeting his own eyes as he was now amused at how you were able to connect all of the dots that were right in front of you.
“I had to find a way to find you, didn’t I? Now we can finish what we started in the first place, sweetheart.”
ღ plot: despite the fact that you’ve been together for so long, being best friends to roommates to lovers, everyday seems like a brand new chapter of your story with Soonyoung.
ღ a/n: a short oneshot (basically a drabble) for today but i hope im not too late to the birthday party ehehe :) happy birthday tooooooo @mingyulonglegs <3, a dear angel that has entered my life and i am super grateful to have you as a friend!! i hope that your 18th birthday was well given circumstances and i love you lots <33 here is a link to the song for anybody that wants to listen with!!
A smile plays on your lips as you were in the kitchen making lunch for you, your niece and fiancé Soonyoung as you watched them in the living room. It was quiet as you were humming to yourself when you were cutting the crust off for the little one, demanding that she had to have the crusts off other sandwich when Soonyoung suddenly thought it’d be funny to have the crusts of his sandwich cut off as well.
“Y/N is the best! I love Y/N more than you do!” You recall your niece saying earlier when you mentioned that you would cut them off when you could remember it all going uphill from there.
In that moment that she excitedly boasts her love for you, Soonyoung is picking her up into his arms and placing raspberries all over her neck and cheeks making her squeal and giggle out loud. It made you think about how the future with him was going to consist of him probably doing that to your future kids some day.
That is, if he wanted to have kids after you both got married.
By the time that you finish however, you walked back out to the living room to see the two already knocked out on the couch sleeping. As your niece was currently sleeping on top of Soonyoung’s chest, you noticed how he held her closely so that she wouldn’t fall off and it made your heart warm up at the very sight of it.
“Soonyoung... wake up.” You quietly say and nudged at his arm after putting the plate down on the table, watching as his eyes slowly opened up to look at you sleepily before chuckling once he noticed the slight weight that was on his chest.
“What a cutie,” He grins and brushes your niece’s hair out of the way from her eyes before sitting up carefully so that she doesn’t wake up before facing you once again, “You okay, love? Your face is really flushed with heat.”
You blinked at him before touching your cheeks slightly to see that they were pretty warm, and you let out a small laugh before shaking your head in response. He leans over to where you decided to sit beside you to place a soft kiss against your forehead, the silence enveloping you both at the moment being everything that you felt was right.
The next chapter of your life, something that was going to come so soon, but also so far away. It was a scary thought the more that you continued to dwell about it, but it was also comforting because it was with him.
“I’m okay. I just can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
