peyton grew up with her single mom, never once knowing anything about her dad. they've been in timber creek their whole lives.

though peyton may not have had a father figure in her life, her grandma was there and they developed a really special bond. she supported her when her own mother didn't and she was basically the cool parent.

by the time college decisions were due, peyton still had no clue what she wanted to do with her life.

she decided to take a year off and self-isolated a lot but it was also when she learned a lot about herself and made the decision to go to med school and become a doctor.

she's loosely inspired by lexie grey from greys. personality wise anyway

she's super bubbly and lively and loves meeting new people but is also an anxious stressful ball when it comes to school

she's such a perfectionist and runs on caffeine

being the youngest son of the conglomerate im industries , rowan believes he had dodged a bullet. being the youngest meant lesser responsibilities , freer choices , and a wider array of possibilities — and for the most part of his childhood , though he still was subjected to intense private lessons , he'd never felt the pressure weigh on his shoulders as opposed to how it was with his older sister.

rowan never took his life seriously. lessons begrudgingly attended in the mornings , sports in the afternoon , sneaking off in between doing god knows what , parties at night , and never coming back home until a week later to repeat the process. he was a nuisance as a teen , even more so as a young adult as he began to show signs of not growing out of his teenage mischief. his parents had thought that if they had just allowed rowan to do whatever he wanted at the beginning , he'd grow tired of it and become considerate , but they thought wrong.

after high school , rowan got into princeton for sports science. though it was never in his agenda to go to college , his father stroke him a deal of consenting him to study any degree just as long as he finishes it , and of course , a few calls to his esteemed princeton colleagues were made. his grades weren't the best , but he's a talented swimmer. and for a few months , everyone swore he'd finally stick with it , that is until he suddenly dropped out , went backpacking around the world doing god knows what - a running theme - and called it taking a gap year ... or two.

he had cut all means of communication with his family for almost two years. although his mother became a consistent bearer of news during that time , it was also how he knew his sister had gotten seriously ill , and that coming home was of grave matter.

rowan's relationship with his father was strained , and with his sister's inability to continue working in the company , frustratingly agreeable had only become rowan's response to his father's demands.

timber creek university is his mother's alma mater , and it was also with her encouragement that rowan decided to pursue a bachelor's degree there. a legacy — as they called him , but rowan tends to hide the minor detail behind his facetious charm and outgoing demeanor.

he rarely discusses anything regarding his family's business , and if asked regarding his relations to the im industries , he reasons that most korean-americans have identical surnames anyway.

despite finally adhering to a singular spot for nearly four years , rowan can still be quite the man that he was two years ago : a fool who runs his mouth , thoughts leaving his mind without slightest bit of consideration , increasingly dramatic over even the most minute account , and overly troublesome. anyone that do not wish to have business with him ought to avoid this pest.

the brandt family is considered something akin to royalty within timber creek; the family establishing it's roots in the town since the beginning. their name coming to be through successful business ventures, the most notable being the opening of timber creek university. the man who was to inherit the business and the woman he married (who his family wasn't fond of) didn't expect to welcome a bundle of joy into the world so soon but here came giselle. she brought a happiness to the couple and hopes that this child could fix their marital problems. how naive of them to think that though. the cheating continued on henri's part and chalita struggled with this loneliness for years. giselle was oblivious to it all. her views of being a princess esque figure in this fairytale life she was living clouding what was in front of her. her fairytale came crashing down when she was ten. her mother had enough of this life and filed for divorce. her father got custody of giselle but she saw her mother part of the summer and for some holidays. the little girl couldn't understand what happened to the love between her parents she thought she'd seen through the years. how could it just disappear? how did her family break? giselle grew older. henri remarried (but still struggled with infidelity). they were a new family. with that, giselle finally got a glance of what her mother was put through. she never wanted to be put through that so she vowed to forget about the whole storybook love she once wanted. a love life that only consisted of hookups, one night stands with strangers, or fake dates to appease her parents. as giselle enters her junior year at timber creek uni, she still struggles with what she wants out of life. when you've been given everything you've ever wanted in life, what more could you ask for?

even after everything, giselle is still a daddy's girl. it helps that he spoils her with anything she wants.

one of her favorite things to do is ice skate. it's something she use to do with her mother a lot growing up and she's pretty good at it. maybe not olympic level good but she's earned a couple medals & trophies.

her other favorite thing to do is play video games. it's her way to de-stress / when she wants to be alone. her fave game is probably mass effect (hence her cat's name).

BACKSTORY & PERSONALITY

nora vogel - daughter of victoria & vincent vogel, owners of the biggest hotel chain in the country - VOGEL. a hotel heiress.

from a very young age, nora was taught to always be on her best behavior in case someone's watching. she was not allowed to slip, if even for a minute.

this went for every aspect of her life. from school, to her wardrobe, to social events. there were always expectations and consequences if they were not met fully. that's not to say she hasn't also enjoyed the lifestyle her family could afford for her and doesn't rly shy away from having a lot of money.

she was always taking AP classes and enrolled in several after school activities, clubs and sports. nora took up ice skating from a young age and has been competing since.

she was always showered with compliments as long as she complied with what her parents signed her up for. her family was always praising her for doing so many different things and having the best grades etc, regardless if she was happy or not. and she really wasn't.

it became obvious to nora how her parents didn't truly want the best for her. and anything they did, any attention she got from them, was because they wanted to control the family image. it always came down to how they looked to other people -- nevermind nora's interests. and they were cruel if she ever voiced her thoughts.

acting is her true passion, specifically theatre, and that's why she's majoring in it! it's her dream, though her parents don't really support it. they think it's just her living out a phase and that by the time she graduates she'll work in the family business and keep up appearances like they want her to.

for the most part, she's always been compliant? even if it fucked her up mentally but now that she's living on campus and away from her parents, she's had a taste of freedom and has been rebelling more and more. part of it, to get her parents to finally care about her beyond the family image and part of it, so she could break away from the overly high expectations they set for her. safe to say, she'll never say no to doing anything that gets her attention! be it legal or not.

she gets overwhelmed rly easily and that leads to a lot of impulsive decisions on her part so!!!

because she was always taught to put her best self on display, she's scared of being vulnerable or showing any of her true feelings towards people. she's the kind of friend who says i love you rarely and would instead make fun of you or tease you. she's trying her best to get over it though it's hard when she comes from a household where her accomplishments were valued more than herself and her own wellbeing and saying i love you was rare.

when she loves people she really goes all in and leaves pieces of herself with them so that's why she's v guarded because she knows she latches on strongly.

DETAILS;

Luz comes from a warm and loving family of nine. yep. Nine. she’s the fifth of seven kids and is sandwiched between two sets of twins. 

She’s adopted, but it wasn’t something that was kept from her. Her mother died of complications just after childbirth and Bruno, her mother’s brother, and his wife, Angelina, took her in and raised her as their own. She’s never felt othered by her parents though there is some discourse between her and her “siblings” from time to time. 

Being the first girl, she was spoiled quite a bit. Sort of. It became clear the older she became the less she wanted to be treated differently than her brothers. She was the embodiment of the ‘one of the boys’ tropes. She loved being outside, fishing, getting dirty and fighting. Whatever the boys could do, she could do better. 

It wasn’t until the second set of twins came along that Luz began to settle a bit. She stopped worrying about keeping up and started going at her own pace. 

She’s a handful. Everything she feels, she feels deeply and sometimes suddenly. Her attention span typically falls on the short side or she’s so engaged in something, she loses herself in it. 

Art is a major outlet. Painting, sculpting, dance, poetry, you name it, she’s dabbled in it. She is always always drawing, if only to keep her hands busy. If you’ve been in the commons, library or quad the same time as her, you’re probably in one of her sketch books.

School wasn’t as difficult for her as one might think. She got the grades, it just took a looooot of refocusing. Lots of turning in work late or doing the bare minimum only to bring it up at the very end. Teachers either love or hate her. 

Actually most people love or hate her. And she’s ok with that. She’s not out here trying to make everyone like her. She doesn’t believe in liking everyone either. But she tries to at least be respectful/amicable. Until you piss her off. In that case, it’s not great.

She can get loud, her anger coming in the form of saying shit she doesn’t mean, throwing things, storming off and most iconically tears. She’s gotten a better hold of her temper in later years, developed a longer fuse, but every now and then….

Boxing and martial arts helped. And you know, regular art.

She’s sold some paintings in her home town and some around the globe. Not anything insane but it was enough that she didn’t head off to college right away. Instead she traveled around the states, living out of her car or motels, creating.

She chose Timber Creek because of its art program, though she really doesn’t know what she’ll do with an actual degree. She just kinda wanted to see what she was missing and she doesn’t hate it. She hopes to kinda figure out some sort of ambition here. Though to be honest, she’s not sure she’ll last long enough to actually graduate.

BACKSTORY

omer celik grew up in izmir, turkey. the middle child of 5 siblings. there was always something happening in the celik household.

his parents wanted nothing more than to cultivate a proper life for the celik siblings and never once pressured them into/out of anything. they were the most supportive pair but also the most overworked. the small age gap between the siblings never made things easy whether it was financially or not.

when omer was old enough to understand this, he started helping around the house and picking up his own slack.

though omer was a bit of a dreamer. he was constantly imagining what he wanted out of life and was the type to put action plans in place to try and get there.

hockey has always been one of his biggest goals but also generally being able to take care of his family and pay back his parents for all they put into raising them and putting their kids first.

omer worked hard and earned a hockey scholarship to tcu and that's when he made the big decision to move away from his home and his family. it wasn't an easy one because he's so naturally attached to them and he's such a family guy in general but he has a vision!!

failure isn't really an option for him at this point and hockey is everything. he wants to go pro after college and eventually do the whole buy his family a big house and surprise them with gifts and spoil the hell out of them.

so while he's fun company at parties, he'll refrain from drinking or going hard, specifically if he has practice the next day or something because it's always health first!!

PERSONALITY
